The trepidation is about what happens next and whether any serious reform has happened or can ever happen at the CIA. Many of us at least hoped that Goss was on an ass-kicking, house-cleaning mission, yet it is impossible to believe he has cleansed the Augean Stables so quickly. So has he been defeated within the CIA, or has he accomplished a certain amount and just thinks now is the best time to hand things off to a long-term successor who will continue the reforms? Is the CIA going to be dragged out of the sick Pflame-Wilson-McCarthy-McGovern-VIPS era, or have the bureaucratic back-stabbers defeated Goss and Pres. Bush??
