Thank you.
Prayers for this good and brave man as he enters the den of snakes and scorpions to clean it up and to remove the trash.

There is a recent report that approx 25,000 people have left the CIA since Porter took over.
If it was 100,000 at the beginning, that leaves 75,000.
Maybe his job was nearly complete.
Again, we need confirmation on the number, but that is the latest.
Correct...and after the lights went din, Porter had a HUGE smile on his face...hje was laughing!! Doubt that would be the case if he had been pushed out or if there is a scandal coming out!!
Too Many Snakes!!!!
Which is why he needs our prayers and support.
I hear you, G.P.!
Don't know for sure, but I've read in a number of places that a dozen or more people retired rather abruptly in the first few months Goss was on the job. Of course, MSM spin artists have portrayed that as Goss and his aides running roughshod over good people, but if we believe that there were seriously bad apples of the Pflame/McCarthy/McGovern variety (obviously there were!!) then any of those types deciding to flee before being caught would of course portray it to their friends and media pals as "mean ol' Porter Goss is driving all these good people (LIKE ME) out of the CIA"...... certainly I hope that Goss was well attuned to who the real problem cases were, though I wish some of them would be PROSECUTED (but that's too much to hope for when they are probably good at covering their tracks).
Were these positions refilled, or attritioned I wonder?
The 100,000 figure seems absurd, I've never seen an estimate of CIA employment above 30,000. Most estimates range between 10,000 and 20,000 and may depend upon how many contractors there really are, etc. I doubt that more than a couple of thousand have left in the past 18 months, though I certainly have no way to judge. I don't know how many have left under Goss, and a certain number (say 1/20??) would retire or move to other pursuits each year anyway, no matter who is DCI.

Yup. But after that broke down over a half-century, instead of fixing the problem, the government brought in another new level of government and reshuffled the org chart. I wish that could still surprise me.
You are right. Bad analysis on my part!
