BTW, I found it interesting that Teddy cancelled all of his appointments today. I guess he had to advise his son. Go home,wait till morning-blah ,blah, lah.
That's why I'm wondering if something else might be about to hit the fan and either Goss has decided he's had a bellyful and had better bug now to let someone else get ready to handle it, or 43's decided he needs someone who can secure the CIA by getting more medieval on some spook hind ends.
FWIW, I've got a feeling something's in the wind, and I don't think it's scandal.
According to Russert's sources, Negroponte will select the next CIA Director, since Negroponte is the intelligence czar. O'Donnell says that Negroponte asked Goss to leave and that Gen Hayden, Negroponte's deputy, is interested in the job. Stay tuned
I just got home and haven't gone through all the posts; has Goss retired? Why?

Nora O'Donnel just said Gen. Hayden from the NSA is interested in the job.
You're probably right since (so I hear) Goss was in the room at the time of the announcement.
My guess would be medical issues... but that's just a guess.

You mean that his hand-picked #3 is under investigation for his involvement with Wade/Wilkes, that said hand-picked #3 is alleged to have steered contracts their way, that said hand-picked #3 attended parties thrown by Wade/Wilkes, and that the FBI is investigating whether prostitutes were invovled in those 'hospitality suite' parties? None of those things are 'wild insinuations.' None. Every single one of them is reported by multiple news organizations, and some of them have been officially confirmed.

Agree- this is ALL so odd. Particularly in light of hearing Norah O' Donnell says "sources" tell her that Negroponte ASKED Goss to step down.
It seems that now the DIA (Negroponte) gives the president the daily intel brief- it's no longer the CIA director.
Power sharing is tough work.
So there isn't an investigation into corruption, starting with Cunningham and now touching the CIA?
Why else would he resign so suddenly?
