It is exactly this albatross of racism that will have to be thrown off if we are to take control of our borders and rid ourselves of these illegals. I think we're ready. If we aren't the price we'll pay down the line will be enormous.

von Clauswitz argues that war is politics through another means. I'm not certain we don't need a little of both. For example, the terrorists don't hesitate to use the victims' families as hostages...I don't think it's unreasonable for our soldiers (or at least our proxies in the Iraqi military) to do the same as much as that gets howls from strict Geneva Convention observers. The terrorists aren't following the rules. I don't think we can either. I think that's Steele's (and Rush's) point.

On the whole the day without illegals went well ... I say we try a year!
My buddy's Dad, a staunch Rep. would disagree with you vehemently. HST became his hero when he dropped the big ones. You see, he was a combat Marine in the south Pacific and did not relish the thought of invading the Japanese mainland.
I don't think the issue is to use the entire arsenal...but we HAVE gone out of our way to spare civilians even when it might have resulted in the capture of Zarqawi or perhaps even bin Laden himself. I think the military power should be more decentralized so you don't always have the lawyers questioning every call. After Abu Ghraib, I fear we're back to the Vietnam syndrome where the Pengaton had to clear everything.

Unfortunately IslamoFascism (all Islamo Fascists are Muslims, but not all Muslims are IslamoFascists) and insurgency are the same thing. They use the same characteristics whether they are Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Shi'ite Jihad, the Indonesian Jamal Islamiya...so I fear we sort of have to know how to fight IslamoFascists who use the tactic of insurgencies.
I don't see it from where I sit.
