In another internet forum, a former FReeper is monitoring police scanner frequencies in Santa Ana, CA. He reported earlier that all riot control units were called to the area as a riot was beginning to erupt.

Minutes ago he reported that the radio traffic indicated that shots had been fired.

More info as it comes in. Does anyone live near Santa Ana, is there any confirmation on local TV or radio? Anyone have a police scanner or an online link?

I have no doubt that is true. However, this report connected the shots to the unrest occuring at the rally where illegal aliens and their supporters were throwing rocks and bottles at LEO. Nothing more on that report. Unrest continues.

I'm getting working feeds, but nothing notable is being said. Tried LA COunty Sheriff, CHP SoCal, Orange County PD/FD and I'm hearing nothing worth reporting.

I checked five stations so far, and there is absolutely no reporting of any violence such as is being heard on the scanner now by FReepers. Drive-by media is blacking out anything unfavorable to this new, noble "movement."

Yes, the sob sisters of TVland are out in full force tonight. I still haven't seen the riot news from Santa Ana at all. I did see the hispanic S.A. city council bragging about their new law to rid the city of sex offenders. Funny that would come out today...
