May Day: El Gran Boicotposted at 1:58 am on May 1, 2006 by Allahpundit Send to a Friend | printer-friendly Its moonbat Christmas, the perfect day for millions of illegals to take to the streets, bring their best friend American business to its knees, and do their level best to alienate most of the rest of us. Unsurprisingly, the Times and WaPo both report a split among immigration advocates over the wisdom of staging a boycott while legislation is pending in Congress not to mention doing it on May Day. WaPo: Carlos Castro, a leader in two local business groups and owner of the Todos Supermarkets in Northern Virginia, said he was wary of some advocates attempts to link immigrants rights with leftist causes. They want to create instability in the community, he said. It is kind of scary, because I lived through the metamorphosis of the Civil War [in El Salvador], and I know leadership and I know instigators. I want to make sure that we get the leaders of the Hispanic community out front. Im not accusing anyone, but thats certainly how it looks..... (Continues)

FYI.. Interesting reading...

The REAL message of the boycotts in America on May 1 is that Mexicans and Central Americans despise, don't care and don't love, or want to go back to their motherland. This is sad.

Larry Holmes of ANSWER was on TV here in NYC at a press conference for the protest today.
It's the same antiwar communists once again.

It's Loyalty Day!
Loyalty Day is observed on May 1 in the United States. It is a day set aside for the reaffirmation of loyalty to the United States and for the recognition of the heritage of American freedom.
The holiday was first celebrated in the 1930s as Americanization Day, and was intended to serve as a counterweight to May Day, which was celebrated as a Communist holiday.
Celebrate by going and buying from American Business!
Godd "red" companies

I am getting so sick of the term "Immigrants Rights".
This is about trespassers who are parading down our streets demanding to be given rights and the liberal left who is embracing them. The media (even conservative talk radio news programs) refer to them as immigrants.
If someone came onto my property, set up a tent city, then demanded that I bring out a drinking water supply, electricity and toilet facilities... I would be standing there with a gun telling them to get off.
The media would say I am the bad guy...after all, they just want the same things that you and I do.

I call it the lowering of the standards and you can bet the lefties are deep in this up to their neck: Their agenda is very simple, attack, attack, attack, on many flanks (like this one:Immigrant Rights) until they get through...then, they will their own causes.
I would not be surprised if this becomes some kind of "civil rights2" or attempt it any way... so we have to fight back!

The protests have also reminded me to contact my senators and tell them MY opinion:
NO ILLEGAL AMNESTY! CLOSE THE BORDERS!
Does everyone think that is clear enough. I tried to be really, really clear so it couldn't be SPUN or MISUNDERSTOOD!
Arggghhhh!
Here is the basic address so everyone can do the same...

Excellent points.
Question: Do you not find it odd then, that on a grander scale, the invaders have given warning to our D.C. leadership that they plan to shut down our country, and NO ONE is preventing it or standing ready to protect us. Am I the only one who finds it odd that post 9/11, the government doesn't see these massive demonstrations as a threat to national security? That they haven't called out the national guard in order to prevent what could become a nationwide nightmare? Are they just HOPING that things remain peaceful?

Does anyone else find it ironic these are being held on May Day? Big day for communists.
May Day a.k.a. International Workers' Day
International Workers' Day (a name used interchangeably with May Day) is the commemoration of the Haymarket Riot of 1886 in Chicago, Illinois, and a celebration of the social and economic achievements of the international labor movement. The 1 May date is used because in 1884 the Federation of Organized Trades and Labor Unions, inspired by labor's 1872 success in Canada, demanded an eight-hour workday in the United States to come in effect as of May 1, 1886. This resulted in a general strike and the riot in Chicago of 1886, but eventually also in the official sanction of the eight-hour workday. The May Day Riots of 1894 and May Day Riots of 1919 occurred subsequently.
Due to these left-wing overtones, May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist, and anarchist groups. In some circles, bonfires are lit in commemoration of the Haymarket Riot usually right as the first day of May begins. [1] In the 20th century, May Day received the official endorsement of the Soviet Union; celebrations in communist countries during the Cold War era often consisted of large military parades and shows of common people in support of the government.
The Red Scare periods ended May Day as a mass holiday in the United States, a phenomenon which can be seen as somewhat ironic given that May Day originated in Chicago. Meanwhile, in countries other than the United States and United Kingdom, resident working classes fought hard to make May Day an official governmentally-sanctioned holiday, efforts which eventually largely succeeded. For this reason, May Day in most of the world today is marked by huge street rallies of workers led by their trade unions and various large socialist and communist parties a phenomenon not generally seen in the U.S. (which has a history of strong anti-communism) or the UK.
In most countries other than the U.S. and UK, May Day is often referred to simply as "Labor Day".

Have unilaterally declared American Consumer Freedom Day and am about to embark on a minor (or major) spree at a number of fine businesses.
Will also take note for future shunning of any cowardly rat and roach infested stores which have closed up for the day.
Will show my respect for crimminal immigrants (crimigrants) causes by taking an extra long siesta this afternoon prior to going out for dinner this evening.

You've summed it up on a small scale. How many other nations are this suicidal regarding immigration policy?
If I were to go to another country, let's say, Mexico, and I came with no passport, no ID whatsoever, parading about the fact that I reside illegally in the country, expecting the Mexican government to provide protection and the good citizens to support me whilst learning MY language so as to accomodate me, would they put up with it?

Not ironic but predictable. There are over one-hundred groups involved in these rallies today. Several of them have the very word 'Communist' in their name!
The MSM could care less; it's about "immigrants' rights," after all.

No. I find it no more of a coincidence than the terrorist attacks happening on 9/11.
"mayday" is an internationally recognized distress call.
