It was busy at a very busy mall area here today, like it is around Xmas ;)
In a prior life, back in the early '80s, I had a contract to do some logistics management for Zenith's maquilladora operations in Reynosa and Matamoras. The gist of the deal was importing electronic components (primarily from Asia), consolidating them and doing pre-QC in the US Free Trade zone in McAllen. Then moving the raw parts, still in-transit under customs bond, duty free into Mexico for assembly. The maquilladoras would assemble complete TV sets but not install them into their cabinets.
These units would be imported back into the US virtually duty-free as "partially assembled electronics". Zenith would truck 'em to their plant in Springfield, MO .. pop 'em into a cabinet and slap on the label that said "Final Assembly in the USA ... The Quality Goes In Before the Name Goes On".
The assembly workers were, indeed, mostly young women ... many as young as 14 to 15 years old (if that). At the time, Zenith's plants were the only air-condtioned maquilladora factories in the valley and it was considered an honor to work there. The girls wore "Sunday" dresses to work on the line. Zenith's "loaded" labor cost at the time ... including wages, benefits, and union payoffs ... 27 cents per hour.
without incident?
Good for you. Keep it up. In fact why not start a chain letter to all your friends asking them to join in and keep it going.
:)Easy Does It:)
More likely, they will be unemployable and have to go on public assistance. Illegals are a bargain to employers now since the wages are low and costs are involunatarily subsidized by the taxpayers.
Once the illegals become citizens then they will won't work for below market wage any longer and with the language barrier will be unemployable.
Millions of new illegals will rush across the border to take their place and the process will start all over again.
Because they will intimidate Congress into allowing this and Obama was pandering early here today
reminded me of my MIL whose feet smell like Fritos ;)
Have you thought about relocating to SC? We have good weather, except you'd need to avoid Columbia in August but other than that we're good.
Nice you know about this in Ga.
I live 15 miles north of the busiest border crossing in the world.
A lot of show went on under Clinton but not much action.
I saw what went on in the 90s when the bonzie runs of thousands across the border in a matter of mins.
I hope so but it might not stay red too much longer if the national GOP doesn't get on the right side of this issue.
news radio in chicago has been very empathetic to their 'plight' also

No time to read this whole thread but I have not seen any businesses closed. Bought some clothes in a department store earlier, and will have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner at restaurants by the end of the day.
yes, it looks like they were just beginning to gather at about 1:30 - 2:00
Illegals make it to Georgia too and drain our social services. We have a huge amount and it could easily turn the 9th most populus state into a blue one this year.
Here are the numbers detailing the comparison between Bush and Clinton - have to thank Spiff for the information
Worksite Arrests: Clinton Presidency, first four years, : 1993 8,027 1994 7,630 1995 7,554 1996 10,014 -------------- Total 33,325 Best year was 1997 with 17,554 worksite arrests Bush Presidency, first four years: 2001 735 2002 485 2003 445 2004 159 -------------- Total 1,824 Best year was 2001 with 735 worksite arrests
In Clinton's worst year there were more worksite arrests than all of Bush's worksite arrests combined throughout his entire presidency.

this a day without "illegal criminals" has backfired I reckon. It just pisses most americans off.
If we had any sense we would round them up and haul em out
