He ought to be ordering half the SOB's in the room arrested and jailed for destroying our nations will to fight.
Instead he's partying with them.
Not too bright.

Bush always turns the other check and he ends up getting slapped. You want a special prosecutor to hound my senior advisers in a time of war, sure. He's indicting my guys for trifling nonsense, well he's dignified.
Somebody has to take responsibility for Katrina, let me set the example and do it.
The only ones Bush gets tough with are the Minutemen and his base. For everyone else it's President Doormat.

What you said.
Don't lend this nest of snakes an aura of friendliness and give credence to the myth of legitimate 'journalism' for these seditionist elites.
X42 dearly loved these affairs. Remember Drudge posting the lavish menus? After the final sorbet, all the ink worms wriggled up to the bent one's throne to lick and groom his carcass and clean public image. Certainly one of the more sickening displays of corruption in the last half century. Why play the charade of honoring those for whom honor has no meaning?

President Bush was the star all the way around. Class 100%. Most of the audience, as well as most of the stage personnas, reeked with self-importance. Big media inviting the likes of Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame, George Clooney, Ludicrus, etc. The media elites came but lost this battle BIGTIME. Our President comes out unscathed.

Bush is going to have a real hard sell with the WOT, and the hard part is going to come from his alienated Joe Sixpack base.
Usually I enjoy these roasts. Didn't even have the heart to read about it this year.

LOL! I think that is why Steve pointed out (as Bush's alter ego) "Why dan't I have dinner with the 36% that DO LIKE ME?"
It was WONDERFULLY written and BRILLIANTLY DELIVERED!

Oh come on...this dinner has been going on since 1914...there's NO way he could bow out.

Truly a move that the Chinese or Stalin would be proud to call his/their own.....

I agree, this whole event makes my skin crawl. I didn't post annything last night, because I just didn't have the patience to be flamed. did you see the guests walking in - the scum of the earth like Madeline Albright, all the leftists in the media, hollywood people.
Given that there are US soldiers dying in combat every day, the President should gracefully decline to do events like this - the tone is simply not right.
