Funny, I just got this in Yahoo Breaking News:
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says Rush Limbaugh has been arrested on prescription fraud charges
Just heard the same on my local news...
To: West Coast Conservative
WSBTV in Atlanta just gleefully announced that Rush Limbaugh had been arrested on drug charges. Then one of the radio stations just announced this........all after I just heard Sean talking about a settlement......what is going on??
To: Howlin
He pleaded not guilty. If he's not guilty, he shouldn't have to pay anything.

If I had to hazard a guess, he was probably 'arrested' based on a 'plea bargain' agreeing to the terms listed above by the OP.
Looks like most media is electing to go with him being arrested instead of going with the agreement. After all, being arrested is much more sensationalist than an agreement being reached.

"Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won."
If he has turned himself in, if he has been arrested, I'd say that's contradictory to the statement above. IMO.

He surrenered, and when you surrender you are under arrest.
He has put in a plea of not guilty to the one charge which will be dismissed if Rush goes through 18 months of treatment.

Rush was arrested and charged with doctor shopping.
To: kristinn
CNN and the AP are breaking that Rush was just arrested.
Of course considering the source, I'll wait for the official word.

Thats what I want to know...For an innocent man he sure shelled out some money for this investigation...I want to know what they threatened him with if he didn't make this go away...Because it does look like the prosecution won...

Yeah, I know. But the thing that really ticks me off with these "settlements" is that a black mark that shouldn't be there will ALWAYS be there because he "settled" and he "paid money" to make it go away.
But OTOH, they failed in their primary aim, which was to get Rush jailed and off the air.

That's nothing to him. Besides, how much would Roy Black cost if Rush kept fighting the charge!$30K may be chump change for Rush Limbaugh, but PRINCIPLE is worth far more. This case stinks and it always has.
What does Mark Levin have to say about this, I wonder?
