Air America Radio will lose its New York flagship station, WLIB-AM, on Aug. 31. While the left-leaning radio networks original lease for the Inner City station ran out March 31, AAR managed to get an extension which only lasts until Aug. 31, according to an informed source.
Through an agreement with ICBC, WLIB will be operated as a joint venture and programmed by P1, a company run by former Clear Channel and Jacor Communications executive Randy Michaels. Michaels is expected to program a progressive-talk format, but replace AARs network programming with more local programming. A likely addition to the new lineup: Ed Schultz, the left-of-center talker syndicated by P1.
To be clear, Air America will not go silent on the New York City airwaves. We do not, however, comment on hypothetical speculation, said an AAR spokesperson.
What is "Air America"
Seriously I've never heard of it before.
Just $10 away!
BWAHAHAHAHA <---- evil laugh.......
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
Burn, baby, BURN!!!!!!!!!
They are working on a pirate radio station broadcast from an apartment in Brooklyn.< /sarc>
I would say this is big news. How on earth could AA not make it in the biggest liberal city in America?
Bwahahahaha!
Guess we'll see a big push by the media to draw attention to the Fairness in Broadcasting Act or whatever it was called.
So what happens to the hundreds of thousands of dollars they scammed from a so called children's services charity?
Capitalism is sweet.
You'll just have to be standing within a few feet of Mr. Franken while he's talking.
why so long?
torture over the summer?
It's the left-wing radio network with Commie hosts such as Al Franken and Randi Rhoads. It was supposed to take America by storm and crush Rush, Levin, and Hannity in the ratings. LOL!
Not surprising--I read this morning that their ratings went from 1.6 to 1.0 in NYC, a loss of 1/3 of their audience.
That reminds me--I gotta look at my local AA station's ratings. They usually rank just below the all-sports-all-the-time station, but above the spanish-language christian radio station.
If anybody can find a DUmmie thread about this story, please post the link here.
Does anyone have that "Schaudenfreude" graphic?
"I would say this is big news. How on earth could AA not make it in the biggest liberal city in America?"
Because New Yorkers are sophisticated people.
Limbaugh has a big audience there.
That's where Mark Levin broadcasts from.
Air America is not sophisticated. It's just stupid.
