Absenteeism for Latino students was at nearly 50 percent at Cherokee Middle School, 41 percent at Sennett Middle School, and 33 percent at Leopold Elementary School,

Those numbers would give some indication of the illegal population. Pretty astonishing.

Well I have it on good authority that the May 1 rallies are going to be targeted by Customs and Immigration and massive, truly massive numbers of arrests will be made.

I am surprised that it got this reaction. When was the last time immigration did sweeps? 50's? 60's? Of course, the schools lose federal money based on attendance. Hey, if we funded American kids and those legally in America, then the tax-pie slices wouldn't have to be so small.

I dunno about that. The police blotter shows that they do ticket people for lighting up a doobie in public from time to time. $125.00 fine. Now, light up a legal, taxed and revenue producing cigarette in a no-smoking area? $150.00!

At one workplace employing many Latinos, a spokesman for Springs Window Fashions in Middleton said that perhaps a dozen Latino workers did not report today "as a result of the message out there."

That tells me that Springs Window Fashions has at least 12 illegal alien workers and should be turned in. This article supports it.

My husband used to work there, in IT. He quit for many reasons and one of them was the number of non-English speaking people that worked there. And when classes in Spanish were offered to the "Gringos" for free, that was pretty much the last straw for him.

Twelve people not showing up is the TIP of the iceburg at that place; they do have a shop in Renosa, MX and a few Texas border towns as well as South Carolina and Las Vegas and a few other places around the US that I can't remember. DH traveled for them a lot, setting up computer stuff in all of their US & Mexico locations.

Look at the tags on your sheets, pillowcases, bath towels and curtains. I'll bet many of us have their products in our homes.

Good news, indeed. There was a Border Patrol sweep here in the San Diego area a while back. The rumors of a crackdown spread like wildfire, prompting Asa Hutchinson to call off the Border Patrol, as to not upset too many ilegal aliens.

Rumors 'spread like wildfire' because they are credible. Illegal immigrants know they are illegal and are legally subject to being deported at any time.
