My guess would be Amish. No electrical devices allowed. The Amish have a mechanical version, but it takes a strapping lad to operate it.

"What about toes, tongues,?" First time offenders shall be confined to a room with nothing but a life sized picture of Dick Morris for 48 hours with sleep derivation. On the 2nd offense offenders will get 10 days in the electric chair.

"...10 days in the electric chair." What if the electric chair hums and vibrates, wouldn't that be considered a sex toy?

Are you saying that you should you be allowed to force your perversions on them in the name of "freedom"?So your position is that the private ownership of sex toys by others is somehow forcing perversion on you?

The states should be able to regulate the moral and legal tone that represents the will of the people in those states -- including regulation of abortion, legalization of marijuana, etc. If we're going to believe in a principle, we need to be consistent.

Ryan, does this mean you support State prohibitions on guns? Paulsen claims CA's 'assault weapon ban' is perfectly Constitutional.
No, that would be a case where the state is imposing an unconstitutional restriction on something that is Constitutionally protected -- RKBA.
Glad you're consistent about guns. -- Too bad we have no right to possess dildos, though. -- Seems this would be in conformity with bearing arms.

Too bad we have no right to possess dildos Well, there is that "right to happiness" phrase in the Declaration, but I guess it wouldn't include dildos. There must be reasonable limits on one's happiness. That's what good government is all about, right? And if you can't draw the line at dildos, then you're hopeless.

"It appears to affect the lives of South Carolina citizens, however, and they have a right to ban them. Or are you saying they don't have that right?"
My question relates to your "appears to" comment. Are you really contending that a ban would be within their rights even if no ill effect can be shown to actually exist?

well, he was better than who the 'republicans' up there nominated to go up against him. The guy was more liberal than Easily.
I've always liked Sanford tho, hopefully he would veto this bill if it passed.. dunno tho...

After nine months of research and seven roads trips to check out the ambiance, I chose to retire to this wonderful state in September, 2003.Just out of curiousity from where are you retiring?
This is the first news that makes me wonder.
One would think as a conservative you understand by the intended rights of the sovereign states as written by the Framers, the state of SC has the power to do this.

Sex toys aren't banned in Georgia. They may be in other the states though. Georgia currently prohibits the sale, or advertisement for sale, of " any device designed or marketed as useful primarily for the stimulation of human genital organs." Part 1 of Article 3 of Chapter 12 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated
There is currently a bill in the Georgia Senate to repeal/amend this "sex toy" law. SB 631
The sex toys you currently find for sell in Georgia are sold as novelty items.
