No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....

Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

If that's the case we all need to take a couple of pages each and D/L the links and what on the links to our own HD's. We can organize and put them together later.

I always felt that Sam Nunn, who I believe is the founder of this CSIS group, was a good Democrat ..a patriot, with America's best interests at heart. I think, but I may be wrong, that he drew from the parties across the board in the interests of preventing global nuclear warfare. I spy libs there, too, but see what you all think. In the end .. they're probably all just politicians or ex's and businessmen. The Trustees:

Remember Folks, Senator Rockefeller's letter that he wrote to himself reagrding his disdain over the NSA Terrorist Surveillance and he said he locked it in his safe and no one including his family knew about it?

Well, excerpts from it ended up in the New York Time reporters book about the NSA program. The problem is Rockefeller came out with the letter one week before the book was published. Those idiots could not get their timeline right either.

Delicious!!!!

Take it for what it's worth, it's Raw Story:

RAW STORY
Published: Friday April 21, 2006

A CIA officer has been fired for leaking classified information to a Washington Post reporter.

Dana Priest won a Pulitzer Prize for reports revealing the existence of secret CIA prisons in Eastern Europe. The prisons are reportedly used for the interrogation of terrorism suspects.

The White House has repeatedly called that leak a threat to national security, often comparing it unfavorably to the "positive" leaks in connection to the outing of CIA operative Valerie Plame.

The agent fired reportedly placed numerous calls to Priest around the time of the prison leak, and failed a polygraph test when confronted. Criminal charges are reportedly possible.

The pubbies will have marital infildelities, NOT TREASON!

I believe that PD has substantiated my comment from #295. People have disappeared for much, much less. McCarthy has sung, and will sing. There will be offensive damage control tactics by those that stand to lose the most. At this juncture "those people" happen to be wealthy, politically connected Dems.

SHe may have been singing for awhile. Who recalls this? ABC - EXCLUSIVE: Is CIA Leak Probe a 'Witch Hunt'? The director of the CIA has launched a major internal probe into media leaks about covert operations. In an agencywide e-mail, Porter Goss blamed "a very small number of people" for leaks about secret CIA operations that, in his words, "do damage to the credibility of the agency." According to people familiar with the Goss e-mail, sent in late January and classified secret, the CIA director warned that any CIA officer deemed suspect by the agency's Office of Security and its Counter Intelligence Center (which handles internal affairs) could be subjected to an unscheduled lie detector test. CIA personnel are subjected to polygraphs at regular intervals in their careers, but one former intelligence officer called the new warning a "witch hunt." Others said Goss' e-mail was narrowly focused and did not suggest agencywide, random lie detector tests.

I still can't process the "why?"

Leaking operational information gets people killed. What could be so important to these folks that they would possibly sacrifice the lives of people who have committed theirs to the defense of this country?

Which would be very much like trying to punch your way off the tar baby.

Assuming that this investigation has already moved on to others of her ilk.

Smart Democrats will be very quiet about this. We'll see how many of them are smart.

Desire to help the Cut-and-Run party regain political power leavened with a healthy dose of BDS.

Here is more from the ABC Article: The memo informs its recipients that the CIA has asked the Justice Department to prosecute any leakers within its ranks. This comes in connection with recent news reports that detailed the CIA's operation of secret prisons in Europe and its far-flung flights of suspected terrorists to foreign prisons. Crime reports from the CIA are sent to the FBI and the Department of Justice, and constitute a statement that the CIA believes a crime has been committed.
