Just breaking on Fox...

No details, but the agent was caught dead to rights leaking....

Update: CIA Officer Fired for Leaking Classified Info to Media

WASHINGTON — A CIA officer has been relieved of his duty after being caught leaking classified information to the media.

CIA officials will not reveal the officer's name, assignment, or the information that was leaked. The firing is a highly unusual move, although there has been an ongoing investigation into leaks in the CIA.

One official called this a "damaging leak" that deals with operational information and said the fired officer "knowingly and willfully" leaked the information to the media and "was caught."

Since we don't know what this is about, could it be the Plame mess?

Per Brett Baier, he's found out that the leaker is actually in the IG's office of CIA .. the very office that INVESTIGATES LEAKERS!!! John Gibson just reiterating the James Rosen saga with NSA info .. hoping to hear the clanking of jail cell doors yet again.

How about enforcing the RICO statutes and prosecuting the MEDIA end of the leak?

Going out on a limb here...

What if the lie detector test focused on transfers of information not related to the foreign detention centers? Could this be an infiltration of the CIA by agents of a foreign government?

"I expect we'll get to see him publicly named and prosecuted, just like Scooter Libby?"

And of course the media will villify this leaker for undermining national security just like they villified Libby (sarcasm). What we can expect, of course, are editorials complaining of the "chilling effect" that this will have on the public's "right to know." It will be cast as one more instance of the Bush administration's "obsession with secrecy."

"Meaning not only did he leak, he lied to federal investigators. He is in just a little pickle."

Large elements of our CIA have been at war against the USA for the last four decades.

Gibson at Fox also mentioned there is/was a group of CIA agents that were trying to undermine Bush, and he talked about Valerie Plame. Can this possibly lead to the nabbing of a whole rogue group that Plame will be a part of? I would bet yes.

It is possible Fitzgerald may still indict Rove and these investigations being done against the CIA will give Libby and Rove a great defense, that they were trying to set straight information coming out of the CIA that was not true and trying to undermine Bush from a bunch of rogue agents!

Folks, this is going to be huge! Since this CIA agent caught today was from the office that investigated leaks, and he/she has admitted guilt, look for them to turn on others quickly and sing like a canary because they are looking at a very long in in Leavenworth!

============= I have often thought that both State, the CIA, the FBI and the Dept of Justice have moles all over the place. Definitely the CIA and the Plame thing is one fine example.

So your scenario wouldn't surprise me.

And hey, I'll go out further on a limb....I am totally convinced that there are American politicians knee deep with the former Saddam regime or, if nothing else, very involved in that oil-for-palaces joke.

Like I always ask...everyone on the planet knew about Saddam's oil-for-food joke except America?

"secret CIA prisons"

There was an article in today's Seattle Times (I think on page A9, by the way), saying that the head of the EU investigation into this has thus far found no convincing evidence that such prisons exist, or, if they do, that anything illegal was done.

Wish Britt was on Special Report tonight, but it should be well worth watching, nevertheless, with Jim Angle and the panel, coming up in 8 mins.
