In the angry life of Maryscott O'Connor, the rage begins as soon as she opens her eyes and realizes that her president is still George W. Bush... Out there, awaiting her building fury: the Angry Left, where O'Connor's reputation is as one of the angriest of all. "One long, sustained scream" is how she describes the writing she does for various Web logs...
---------------snip----------------------
What's notable about this isn't only the level of anger but the direction from which it is coming. Not that long ago, it was the right that was angry and the left that was, at least comparatively, polite. But after years of being the targets of inflammatory rhetoric, not only from fringe groups but also from such mainstream conservative politicians as Newt Gingrich, the left has gone on the attack. And with Republicans in control of Washington, they have much more to be angry about.
"Powerlessness" is O'Connor's explanation. "This is born of powerlessness..."

.....But there is something else going on.....
You didn't mention her son. He is in real trouble.
When he deserts her like Casey Sheehan did, she will slit her wrists.
The minute the Dems lost power, they went into a perpetual state of anger....and it's pretty ugly.
I think you're confusing her with Ben Domenech (sp?), who was a conservative blogger that the Compost hired. It was people like this moonbat that got him fired.

I wonder what time of the morning she cracked open the wine?
Just look at the entire story and it tells you in a nutshell just how out of whack the media is today. They print this story with a photo of this obviously deranged woman raging at her computer screen. They print her wish that President Bush slowly dies of cancer without any medication. And they treat this as some new phenomenon, one that could have been avoided if only those evil Republicans hadn't insisted on acting so Republican.
It seems to me that while the media's always been left wing, as recently as 10 years ago they wouldn't have dreamed of even running a piece of garbage like this, much less thinking that this portrayal of this temper tantrum posing as a blog would actually be viewed sympathetically by most Americans.
No, I think Box Turtle Ben got himself fired by being a thief. All the moonbats did was open the coffin and let a little light in, and then it was just like Kirsten Dunst in "Interview With A Vampire." Or a nice bucket of water on the Wicked Witch of the West. You're right; that was the guy. His snark met a boojum, I guess. Haven't heard much from him since......
You cannot argue logically with these liberal haters. Politics and destruction of the right are their religion. No amount of argument will be persuasive, just as those of us who have a real religion can't be swayed by mere argument. Actually, liberalism may not be their religion, since religions generally have some sort of purpose and add meaning to life. Certainly however, logic and rationality do not play a part in these people's lives. It would be funny were it not so sad.
Unfortunately, there are legitimate liberal positions to be taken on most subjects (I disagree with them, but they are legitimate). We all lose when we are not called upon to rationally defend our positions.
I have to say, she looks much better with her mouth shut.
I guess O'Conner is her maiden name.
"The front door opens and in comes her 6-year-old son, Terry, home from school, who starts batting around a blue balloon at the other end of the living room, batting it closer to her, closer, closer. She searches through her iTunes library until she finds one of her favorite downloads -- not music, but a speech by a character named Howard Beale in the movie "Network." She presses "play" and turns up the volume. "I want you to get mad!" Beale shouts at one point. "I want you to get mad!" she shouts along, startling Terry. "What?" he says, backing away with his balloon."
The poor kid's growing up in a nuthouse.
Well, if vision and goal setting are criteria for getting on the front page of the WaPo, I'd say she pulled off that part. Then there's the thing where people belittle life experiences had by others, that they don't share, which is much easier and immediately rewarding for them, too, than simply pulling the wings off flies. Or putting firecrackers in the mouths of frogs. While we're on the speculative subject of warped childhoods.......
The function of government is to allow maximum "empowerment" of the individual. I submit that only a childlike, dependent person needs to be empowered BY the government.
Well, I have to give them credit. It was a good response, and I've written a reply.

Liberalism/socialism is really cultural Marxism - an ideology. There was a very instructive essay about this posted (somewhere) yesterday. They use Political Correctness to gain and keep power. Any argument or position stated contrary to their "beliefs" becomes "unspeakable" because it is "hurtful" to some group or other. They cannot win in the world of discussion, so they use word/thought control to dominate.
I would bet that this WP author is very young and has been very insulated from exposure to any conservative conversation or opinion. How he, as a person who makes a living by writing, can brag about being ignorant of blogs, is illustrative of the liberal mindset. They do not search for knowledge, because they might be exposed to something that "offends" their sense of what is "truth".

I was very wrong about this writer's age. Why is he just a staff writer almost 30 years after his graduation?
Exactly how first-graders want to be greeted by the mother that they have been separated from for a whole day! I think her action must have irritated this writer enough that he included this vignette in his story
That poor, poor, poor husband and son....MY GOD. That woman has the Crazy Hag in her.
Think that is bad lady.....us pubbies will STILL be in power after 2008....
Your power hungry ton butt clinton WILL NOT be going to the White House, she might be going to SOME white house, but NOT the one and only WHITE HOUSE....
Get over it, scum bag.....you'll live or move....
Next thing you know, they'll die of moral petulance.
