The president met with Ghana's president John Kufour, and in Virginia, talked about the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit.

Condi Rice denounced Iran 's successful enrichment of uranium as unacceptable to the international community. Among others, she met with Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, and addressed the global travel and tourism summit in Washington.

I read in the Dallas News tonite that Ann Richards has cancer of the esophagus. She is in the middle of chemo treatments.

It reminded me of some more history of GWB. I wish Ann well in the cancer thing, but she is a nasty piece of work. She viciously attacked her opponent in the dem primary when she decided to run for governor.

My dem friend was also a dear friend of that guy, Jim Mattox. She always ran his campaigns. Everyone knew he was gonna run for governor--he'd been a popular attorney general. Ann slipped in under the radar, double-crossed Jim and opposed him in the primary. She won, and my friend's dream of living in Austin and working for Mattox was shot.

Ann's opponent was Clayton Williams an old west Texas rancher guy. She beat him because he was foolish enough to refuse to shake her hand at a press event. Old west Texas guys don't like to shake hands with snakes -- she'd lied about him in the campaign. But it looked bad and he lost.

She seemed to be very popular and was considered unbeatable until you know who decided to run. Even Barbara didn't think he could pull it off.

We all thought she was an alcoholic but the press didn't touch it. I always said she and Molly Ivins drank breakfast together.

However, now that they both have cancer it is admitted in the press that they are 'recovering alcoholics.'

I would be so bold as to remind you that these same illegals have been here for years.

Suddenly the issue of immigration became a talking point and the country is going out of it's collective mind.

With demands to lock them up, deport them all, jail all the business owners, let them live here and give them everything free, etc. etc.

We've gone from the hysteria of downsizing, outsourcing, illegal immigrants, and what will it be next time around.

We must think this through and begin a logical course of action, one step at a time to get the borders under control.

I'm not going to respond to the street demonstrations one way or the other.

However, we must do something before we have a repeat of France.

The democrats have gone too far with their pandering and have hurt themselves. We cannot go too far in the opposite direction.

Calm and logical steps will work best.

The article did say that heavy smoking and drinking are considered main causes and Ann did both.

So did my dear, sweet sister who had throat cancer, but I personally think it started in her esophagus..she only lived six months after diagnosis.
