April 7, 2006 -- IMMIGRATION-BILL SURPRISES HOW do you slip legislative poison past a U.S. senator? Bury it on page 302 of a bill.
The Senate's Democratic and Republican leaders yesterday announced a compromise on an immigration bill - with some details still to be worked out. But details that may continue from the bill passed out of the Judiciary Committee should definitely be deal-breakers.
Like that surprise hidden on page 302 - which would replace the country's entire bench of experienced immigration judges with pro-immigration advocates.
With a few exceptions, today's immigration judges (who serve for life) are dedicated to enforcing the law, and they do a difficult job well. This bill forces all immigration judges to step down after serving seven years - and restricts replacements to attorneys with at least five years' experience practicing immigration law.

I have been thinking the very same thing. Can God be truly just and merciful while our country kills millions of innocent babies over and over. And not only support abortion but fight for the right. But the list goes on and on doesn't it?
AMNESTY WILL COST BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS
"The Congressional Budget Office is saying they haven't considered those numbers yet in the cost of this bill, but they are real and significant, as I say they, indeed, are.
They go on to say this:
With those important caveats, estimated outlays are about $2 billion for the first 5 years 2007-2011 and $12 billion for the first 10 years 2007-2016. The final figures will be bigger than those. Most of those costs are for Medicaid and Food Stamp programs.
They say those are not the final figures. The final figures will be bigger. It didn't include the earned income tax credit.
They go on to say this:
Outlays in the succeeding 10 years will be greater. The bill would impose mandates on State and local governments with costs that would exceed the threshold established in the Unfunded Mandates Reform Act in at least 1 of the first 5 years after they would take effect. "

The argument for providing illegal aliens in-state tuition of course is that the children have met the "residency requirements", and we shouldn't punish them for the crimes of their parents.
Also, since we know that attending college will make people more productive citizens, we might have a vested interest in educating them.
"
Great. So an illegal alien's kid gets in-state but someone 10 miles across the border in a neighboring state doesnt?
how UN-fair!
I'm amazed. Not only is there no Constitutional right to US citizenship just cause you are born here (you need to have US parents too), but they cite an 1870 law that forbids giving citizenship to children of aliens.
.... NOW, will that be enforced?
In matters of national security, the federal government has an obligation to protect our borders. By shifting this responsibility to the States, it abrogates that obligation. For instance, what California does by providing a safe haven for illegals in universities or anywhere else can affect its neighbors.
No "Dream Act"!
(notify Congress NO dream act!)
NO Amnesty!
Secure our border with a wall similar to the one built in SanDiego.
NO welfare benefits!
NO anchor baby!
No more, we are sick of it and aren't going to take it anymore!
