LIVE THREAD: French Riots
April 4, 2006 | FR

Posted on 04/04/2006 10:33:28 AM PDT by Peach

Post your observations here.

Richard Miniter was on FNC and said that even if an employee is caught on videotape stealing from their employers, they cannot be fired.

French wine sales are down; tourism to follow.

I wouldn't be too sure about the latter. Lots of folks here would love to have a balcony seat for this show.

If you can find any books in English, read up on the Catholic Counter-Revolution to the French Revolution, in the Vendee region of France, and the Martyrs of Compiegne. Almost everything in English is out of print. I got a book on it in a mixed lot from ebay and it fascinated me, but there's very little available in English. I'm working on reading French for another project, but reading about the Vendee in the original is on my list.

The French have clearly addled their brains with wine; not being able to fire an employee caught stealing? Stupid.

Mon Cheri Peach, you are too uptight! Set down with me to share some great French Wine and Cheese. Soon nothing will be important except more French Wine and Cheese!

Not yet ...

A youth, center, is grabbed by plain clothed police following clashes after a demonstration against the French government's new labor laws in Paris Tuesday April 4, 2006. Hundreds of thousands of protesters marched through cities around France on Tuesday, hoping to make their biggest show of strength yet to demand the repeal of a job law that has divided the country .(AP Photo/Francois Mori)

French transport workers and teachers staged new strikes on Tuesday and students across the country gathered for street protests they hope will kill off the disputed CPE, a youth hire-and-fire law. While the French loafers are rioting the Muzzie are prowling throough the mobs picking out easy "marks" and beating them senseless. It reminds me of a pack of wolves culling the herd.

Though they fought the Nazis, the French resistance was rife with communists.

I would suggest that La Resistance fought the Nazis because it was rife with communists.

That's true. Power grids are arranged in parallel, not series.
