If you can find any books in English, read up on the Catholic Counter-Revolution to the French Revolution, in the Vendee region of France, and the Martyrs of Compiegne. Almost everything in English is out of print. I got a book on it in a mixed lot from ebay and it fascinated me, but there's very little available in English. I'm working on reading French for another project, but reading about the Vendee in the original is on my list.

Thanks for the info. I've written it down and will look for books on it. Maybe Alibris will have something. I can usually find just about anything there.
