LONGMONT, Colo. (April 1) - Dozens of high school students protested a temporary school policy forbidding students from displaying the U.S. flag- (SNIP)
Students were warned about the policy Friday and several were suspended, although Stumpf would not provide details. Then, about 100 students protested during lunch time.
Student Dustin Carlson told Denver station KCNC-TV that he was suspended for two days.

Rebels, Patriots.... AMERICANS!
God bless em, every one!
Spell it out Seargent!
"They were using the flag...misguided patriotism."
So why do we keep sending our kids to these government re-education camps?
Yes, indeed. For years, I knew that the ship was turning, ever slowly. But now I know that it has turned, finally. When our young stand up, we know we have won.
Correction: Spell it out Sergeant!
We'll pick this up in the AM - Night all!
I'll keep bumping this as long as I can stay awake tonight.
Any chance this can get sent to the Sunday talkshows?
That is an insult to eight graders trying to pass exams everywhere!
bump.
Amen to that. And to make Stumpf a household word.
My Generation!

I was appalled and disappointed in the Montebello High School incident with the flag on Thursday, March 30, 2006.
I cannot believe that the school permitted the students access to the flag, and that they allowed our flag of the United States of America to be flown in this manner. I am totally disgusted with the students that are at this school to receive an education demonstrating their lack of civilized behavior, education, character, and understanding of the rights and privileges that they receive as the result of thousands fighting and dying for their safety and freedom under this flag.
I am also very surprised that the teaching staff has failed so completely in instilling some sort of patriotism, belief in the democratic system of government, and an understanding of how a government works in a civilized society. These students were behaving like a crazed mob. Their comments and actions totally out of control. Where was the teaching staff? Who stepped up to stop this? What type of educational system trains children to behave in this manner when they are about to reach adulthood?
These students are certainly not equipped to reach out into a civilized business or political society with any understanding of how to conduct their lives.
You have all failed miserably in preparing these children for life, success, or freedom.
I say, NO WORK PROGRAMS! NO AMNESTY! LEAVE OR GET DEPORTED! EMPLOYERS, VERIFY EMPLOYEES OR GET FINED!
Are they really that stuck on stupid?!!!!
Are these NEA types THAT ignorant!!!
IF THIS WAS ANY OTHER ISSUE THE NEA JACKBOOTS WOULD BE DEMANDING TOLLERANCE.
These NEA types are essentially urinating upon the principle of assimilation and national pride for the USA.
The board that supports this should immediatly be fired.
Because, it is not the flag of the United States of America...if you want to fly the flag of Mexico, go to Mexico! If you think that you are smart enough to tell us how to run this country you must be smart enough to run Mexico! God knows, no one else is running it.
I don't understand why the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS want to come here and be discriminated against, why not go to Mexico and use your intelligence, your skills, your knowledge, and your ability to organize and build a country in Mexico. They need help and it is YOUR country!
Go home and build a better Mexico then you can show US how it is done!
Exactly! Half the freepers on this thread will argue in another thread about how great "public schools" are. All public schools suck. They prove it every chance they get. They are run by liberals and labor unions.
How about this then -- no U. S. flag = no U. S. dollars for any students at all.
This makes me mad! Do we have a # to FReep?
