LIBERTY, Mo. -- A youth minister in Missouri has been charged with assault for allegedly knocking down a 16-year-old boy and kicking him in the groin during a dodgeball game.
Authorities said the teen had missed David M. Boudreaux, 27, with one throw, but then knocked his glasses off with another.
The boy apologized, but authorities said Boudreaux pushed him backwards and then kicked him in the groin when the teen got up again.
Court records said the boy suffered whiplash, post-concussion syndrome, had blood in his urine and other injuries.
Prosecutors said Boudreaux later apologized, but an administrator at Crescent Lake Christian Academy said he's been placed on administrative leave.

If it was my kid he assaulted like that hiding behind the cloth wouldn't do him any good if I got hold of him...

If he did that to my kid, the only cloth he'd be hiding behind would be his burial shroud.

Wow. My word, this "youth minister" sounds like he's got a bushel full of problems.
I wonder if he's getting paid while on administrative leave?

When I was in service we had a game called war ball. It was played on a football field with a soccer ball. The object of the game was to get the ball to the goal post............. by whatever means necessary, meaning............no rules whatsoever. No protective equipment either.

Our game had lots of kids, each trying to get the ball across the goal line. Once across, the kid was "safe" and everybody ran back to mid field. The kid with the ball (football usually) would throw it at random out to mid field where someone would eventually get control of it and take off running. Everybody would then try and tackle him and try to take it away.............

Why was the idiot wearing his glasses during a game of dodgeball? I could understand the minister getting steamed if he were playing golf and the kid started throwing golfballs at him, but dodgeball?? Isn't the object of the game to hit as many opponents as possible with dodgeballs?

I am reminded of Robert Duvall as a preacher going after the 'youth minister' (schtupping his wife)...
Duval beat the holy philanderer with a baseball bat hit him right in the church picnic basket...

Not justifying what the minister did (he has no business in that job) but it says the kid knocked his glasses off, i.e., was aiming to hit him smack in the face despite glasses.
He had already tried to do it once before and probably got warned. (just a guess)
The kid probably deserved a little bit of a whuppin.
Speaking as someone whose kid had a front tooth broken by just such a bully during a dodgeball game - you are not supposed to hit someone in the face with all your might, espcially a younger kid or someone with glasses.
I didn't kick the kid who did it to my son, but got no satisfaction from the parents for over a thousand dollars worth of dental bills.

Same here.I have grand kids in sports, and if that were to happen to them,I would have no other recourse.I had to grab hold of a football coach during a game for grabbing one of my grandsons in a rough manner. He was acting like a little dictator to these 7-8 yr.olds.I got a standing ovation, and after the game,I made it a point to see that it was his last game as a coach. The people in charge tried to make like it was no big deal. They changed their tune when I told them if it happened again to any other child in my presence,I would be coming after them.

I'm with you (what wrong with all the other sissys, saying the minister was a big-bad meanine?)
growing up, you got one shot, so it had better be a good one, because you knew you after taking that shot you were going to get slaughtered. And I'm a girl.
