So here she goes, cutting into the only portion of the bill that WILL be effective.

Fining employers thousands of dollars per worker per offense doesn't sound like it would do anything to me. Heck, just add the fines to your product costs.

Uhm thr program not working and those who employ illegals not liking it are two very different things.

The program works for what it was intended to do, round up illegals and punish those who employ them.

The fact that feinstein is unable to grasp that concept comes as no great shock to me.

It would work when we start putting the crimminals who hire illegals in jail.

I think Feinstein has gone wobbly in the head.

When will voters wise up and quit sending these radical numbskull's to the senate.

Democrat crackdowns on jobs work all the time.

Jimmy Carter, Unions, minimum wage, FICA, spotted owl, etc.

Feinstein is very dangerous. When did she develop such a great concern for largely conservative growers?

The pro-illegals are SOOOOO negative;

We CAN'T secure our borders, just impossible
We CAN'T deport all the illegals, just impractical
NO AMERICANS will do these jobs, just can't find ANYONE to do them.

“You go into a field and you cite an agricultural grower, and the whole community erupts because everybody knows that grower has to harvest his crop or the crops lie dead and dormant,” she said. “So the employer sanctions program has been basically unenforceable.”

Interesting. Do you think maybe some of these growers may have contributed to Feinstein's election?

Why punish the grower? He has crops to harvest and lazy Americans sitting on the welfare rolls don't have any reason to take the job of helping him do that. So what choice has he got? If he hires Americans for what they want he'll have to charge so much for his product to make a profit that no one will buy the product. He's better off letting it rot.

The only way to cure the illegal invasion of "guest workers" is to end welfare today.

No welfare = No real incentive for illegals to come
No welfare = No jobs for illegals to take
No welfare = A huge drop in obesity
No welfare = A decline medical costs
No welfare = Keeping more of your money at tax time
No we...

The news has been full of late with the left informing us of what won't work. The trouble is, the things that "won't work" only fail for causes that libs don't want to solve.

I heard a leftist yesterday telling his interviewer that a border fence "won't work" because people who want to come here are going to come anyway. Yet, a "virtual fence" built of electronic gadgets, drones and cameras was fine to have.

So, what does the left want, a fence that will work best of all or a fence that can be gamed in the budget process, a fence that has to be funded every year, so that agents can be shuffled away from enforcement, or never funded at all, a fence that not only cannot be seen, but that might even not really be there?

What does the left really want? It appears, they want to liquidate the United States and have the opportunity to shape a new country though the thongs of ignorant peasants who are flooding through the Arizona, New Mexico and Texan wastelands. The left appears to not have a clue at how special and precious the country we have right now is, even with all its faults. It appears they would rather have a country full of Mexicans than a country full of Americans.

Why else would they not complain about the number of Mexican flags on defiant display in the recent massive rallies and protests about reforming immigration policy and border security?

(You can tell an elitist by how he talks as if he will be part of the ruling clique even after his dream of social transformation come true!)

The flood of illegals must be stopped and quick. We need guest workers, but it may take time for us to even figure out what is the appropriate number. The 12 million illegals that are already here are a different, but related matter.

"Sen. Dianne Feinstein said yesterday that it would be pointless to couple the War on Drugs with a crackdown on U.S. residents who sell crack cocaine.

“I don't think it makes any sense,” Feinstein said. Federal DEA agents, she noted, have backed off in the past when faced with opposition in communities where crack houses are disrupted. "

“What has been shown is that dealer sanctions don't work,” Feinstein said.

“You go into a crack area and you cite a dealer, and the whole community erupts because everybody knows that the dealer must sell crack or the addicts will lie dead and dormant,” she said. “So the dealer sanctions program has been basically unenforceable.”

She misses the point. If there were a LEGAL GUEST WORKER PROGRAM that allowed these employers to hire LEGAL temporary labor, and the employers knew they would be fined and/or prosecuted if they hire ILLEGAL labor, then the employers will make the obvious correct choice.
