Capitol Hill police are expected to seek an arrest warrant next week for Rep. Cynthia McKinney of Georgia, who was involved in a physical confrontation with a Capitol police officer Wednesday, police and legal authorities said Thursday.
Officially, the investigation of the incident, in which the DeKalb County Democrat allegedly struck a police officer who tried to stop her from going around a security checkpoint, is ongoing, said Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, spokeswoman for Capitol Hill police.
However, police have notified the federal prosecutor's office in Washington that they will be seeking an arrest warrant after the investigation is complete next week, said police and legal authorities, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because the investigation was not yet complete.
McKinney ignored a reporter's questions Thursday as she walked into the Capitol, before word of the planned arrest warrant. She could not be reached for comment later Thursday. . . .

"Too bad he didn't tase her - it might have shocked some sense into her!"
You would have better luck trying to shock sense into a cabbage.
-Jihad Cindy? McKinney won't go quietly... indeed, she may not go away at all...--
-Billy McKinney- show him the door next?--
One of the very interesting revelations ( see the links ) was how much money was pouring into Cindy's campaign from out of state.
Feels like it's rainin' all over the world...

A fact that he never hid so he didn't know this would be a problem. He and his son-in-law are leaving the force. I always liked him. He seemed like a real, honest police chief and a nice guy.
If there are, you can be darn well sure Je$$e Jack$on and Al $harpton will be there.
No, the police officer called out to her to get her attention. She shouldn't be startled that she was grabbed.
Ironically it was the councilman himself. He lost his life by escorting his murderer around the security checkpoint.
Denise Majette, who ousted McKinney for one 2-year cycle, only made it because a lot of Republicans worked for her campaign and got a lot of Republicans to vote in the Dem primary that year (we have open primaries in GA). It didn't hurt that there were no really significant Republican primaries in that election cycle.
Denise then turned around and abandoned that seat to run for the Senate two years later. This campaign was the definition of "a snowball's chance in Hell." There was just no way she was ever going to win a statewide race. We still can't figure out WTH she was thinking. Cyndy of course took the House seat back.
Hank Johnson is unlikely to get the crossover support Majette did. We did it, we got burned by Majette's idiocy/hubris/whatever in walking away from the seat, and we aren't likely to do it again; I know I won't.
As a result, Hank will have to run one heckuva campaign to overcome Cyndy's entrenched machine.

Good read, she is so nutty the left avoids her
Yes. And to clarify, the fact that a Cyndy, as someone with those sorts of beliefs, exists, does not frighten me. Those sorts of nasty people will always exist.
What scares me is the fact that there is a constituency out there that will repeatedly vote her into office.
Thank you, had forgotten Majette's name. Wonder if she was bought off by the McKinney's in some way?
Rep. McKinney has 5th run-in with security
United Press International
March 31, 2006
WASHINGTON (UPI) -- For the fifth time since 1993, U.S. Rep. Cynthia McKinney, D-Ga., had a run-in with Washington security personnel when an officer failed to recognize her.
...
He claims she whirled around and hit him on the chest, The Hill reported Thursday.
...
In 1993, Capitol Police posted a photo of McKinney on an office wall so officers could remember who she was after she complained. Then in 1995, she complained again about being stopped.
In 1996 and 1998, she complained that White House security officials did not give her the same treatment as other members of Congress, at one time mistaking her 23-year-old white aide for her. McKinney is black.

It wasn't by coincidence. I'm quite sure the Dem machine made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Nobody expected she'd win that race, but I'm sure she's well taken care of now.
Omigosh, Boortz is right! Her new hairdo DOES look like an explosion in a Brillo pad factory!!!!
NO WONDER the Capitol Hill policeman didn't recognize her!
As dangerous to our country most members of the house are, not only should they go through a security check, they also need an anal probe to dislodge their heads prior to doing any of the national business.
Seriously, you guys need to dig around at
http://www.fec.gov/
and look at her financial reports. Look at the "A" part of the alphabet, as in "Al-whatever" as a last name. Most of them from outside the district.
She looks pregnant. Can anyone verify?
If I slapped a cop.
I would had my ass beat and been arrested...probably for something more serious than simple assualt the way prosecutors like to pile on.
McKinney does have one thing though.....she's nutty as a moonbat but she has more balls than any RINO pr GOP leader I've seen lately.
