Let's assume all parties truly share the goal of fostering respect for women's choices. Would the feminist agenda accomplish that aim?
NOW lobbies for regulations requiring family friendly policies at businesses, government funding for early childhood education, and giving stay-at-home moms greater access to entitlement programs. These policies would exacerbate the Mommy Wars because each favors one woman's choice over another's.
Individual women already overwhelmingly respect and understand the choices of other women. Sure, society could value more fully the contributions of stay-at-home moms and better respect working moms as mothers. As Ms. Gandy notes, society also should welcome stay-at-home dads. Most Americans get this. That's why "Good Morning America" must struggle to manufacture conflict between working and stay-at-home moms.
It's different when government gets involved. A government giveaway to working moms reduces a stay-at-home mom's value to her family and vice versa. ...

Feminism was about giving women choice. Not insulating them from the consequences. Which is pretty insulting, when you think about it.
I'd call replacing Dad and hubby with the nanny state going back to the old days. No thanks.
Actually it's worse than going back to the old days because in most cases Dad and hubby had your best interests at heart. Same can't be said for Uncle Sugar.
Another feminist attempting to rearrange the deck chairs of feminism's Titanic. Their writings are full of condescension and contempt for all things feminine, godly and American.
Feminists see the writings on the wall, that America women are realizing just how good they have it as American Homemakers. And how much American women owe to the blood, sweat and tears of American men.
In the perverse world of feminists, only women who pursue employment, "work". Women who choose to be Homemakers i.e., wives, mothers, care givers, educators, and the myriad of things that Homemakers do, are simply "stay-at-home moms".
Anyone who adopts the contemptuous terminology of feminists which refers to Homemakers as "stay-at-home- moms", perpetuates the feminist's degradation of Homemakers and furthers the agenda of feminists.
It wont be long before the long dark night that is the holocaust of feminism will be over. The damage done to our country by this evil cult will be calculated for decades. In time, feminism will be looked upon like the KKK. No one will ever admit to having been one.
Fighting the 'stay at home moms' moniker is no more likely to win than changing Red state/Blue state to the proper designation.
I'd say those 'stay at home moms' would be better off by wearing the phrase as a badge of honor.

Joining feminists in their pop vernacular and their ridiculous arguments is hardly enough to reverse the damage done by feminism. By being a man, I am a hard liner on the subject. In retrospect, I welcome any effort in opposing the feminists, which the author of this article is clearing attempting to do.
I was simply addressing the use of the 'stay at home mom' phrase.
The damage done by feminism is indisputable, and most men and children have suffered greatly from it.

Don't you just hate feminists.
It may seem shocking, but there are couples out there for whom the woman's salary is significantly higher. If those couples choose to have children at home with a loving parent instead of going to daycare (rightly so in most cases), then the spouse with more earning potential should be the one to work.
I make just under twice my husband's salary. It looks as if when we have children, my mother will be their caregiver while I'm at work - but if one of us stays home, it'd be him.
