That was MY thought, too. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that turns out to be the case.

If any behavioral changes were present from abuse, they could have been detected or noticed before the killing.

But I pity her having to deal with the fact that she has effectively orphaned her kids...

Maternal chutzpah, huh?

"The defense will be ... he's a wife beater, he sodomized the children, he was playing around with another women (one, or all of the aforementioned) or, she's bipolar, suffers from depression, was an abused child, etc.."

You forgot about the gay lover he had. /sarc

People can come up with a lot of alleged reasons somebody needed shooting.

The reason she killed he is that she wanted him dead.

"The reason she killed he is that she wanted him dead."

And being a preacher, he probably was not loaded so she didn't have the money to have him whacked by Vinnie "tree-fingahs" Tattaglia. Fahgeddaboudet.

Possibly, but the family had only been in the area for a year, and there's no reason to believe that any abuse that may have occurred hadn't started earlier. I'm not saying we should assume there WAS abuse, but I don't think there's any reason at this point to rule it out as being among a number of reasonably likely possibilities.

There's no way that anyone can be sure one way or the other.I,for one, can't imagine her lawyer *not* employing the abuse or mental illness defense. If her lawyer is like most of today's defense lawyers he'll throw as much "bleep" against the wall and see how much of it,if any, will stick.

If that's true, she'd have a good chance of getting the charge reduced to voluntary manslaughter. Indeed, if it's true, I doubt she'd be getting charged with murder I.

"Even in abusive households you can always grab your kids and get out. And if he was cheating she should have divorced him and ruined him financially."

If Preacher Hubby has abused to the point where the wife has no mind of her own, or control over her own life, she CAN'T just leave. I watched my mom -- not allowed to drive, shop, write a check, etc.; he had total control. We kids knew it but had to put on a positive face outside of the parsonage -- exactly like living with an alcoholic. And it's almost impossible to ruin a small-town preacher financially since poverty or near-poverty is the best it will ever get; you're already ruined financially.

O.J was innocent and the jury found him so.

If you really believe that, then I bet the late Johnny Cochran could have convinced you pigs could spontaneously sprout wings and fly, or that O.J. has actually spent the rest of his life searching all the best golf courses in America for the real killer.
