http://www.NewsAndOpinion.com | The new movie "V for Vendetta" qualifies as only mediocre entertainment, but offers a brilliant illustration of today's warped leftist mindset.
The film unequivocally glorifies a terrorist bomber and portrays his ultimate triumph with the cataclysmic destruction of the Houses of Parliament in London.
The Wachowski brothers, who previously made the "Matrix" films, feel such hatred for the film's fictional government described as both conservative and Christian, persecuting Muslims and gays that they treat V's anti-government mayhem as heroic.
"Blowing up a building can change the world," V proudly declares, while his police adversary discovers that previous terrorist outrages were actually staged by the government in order to seize more power.
Regarding this irresponsible, poisonously pro-terrorist fantasy, USA TODAY fatuously declares that "Vendetta examines the balance between national security and personal freedom" as if its comic book romanticization of leftist lunacy constituted serious intellectual inquiry.

I no longer worry about that. I removed the government ID IF chip from my molar. No mark of the beast for me. Now I can sell my tin foil hat on E-Bay.
No
Another point. If you have been tortured and beaten in a cell for weeks, realistically you would not come out of solitary confiement with eye shadow and makeup on like she did.
Yes and many of these upper Westsiders are Jews you also wouldn't think they would so actively support the left's love affair with islamopignazis but alas they do. Go figure.
OK, what's with V and the domino montage. The guy is a busy solo terrorist but finds the time to setup thousands of dominoes in between watching old movies?
I have a feeling that Michael doesn't really care.

IT'S V FOR VICTORY
While some box office analysts were predicting that Warner Bros.' V for Vendetta would emerge as the first big blockbuster of the year, it opened instead with an estimated $26.1 million -- a V for valiant effort, but hardly explosive. The film, written and produced by the Wachowski brothers, took in about $2 million less than their original Matrix did in 2000 and was the fourth-highest opening of the year.
Sometimes image, mood and texture are more important then logic. :-)
I really wouldn't say it's like Brazil. It's a different kind of government their dealing with (Brazil really had more of an insane beauracracy than a dictatorship, sure in the end the pencil pushers were the absolute dictators but not for any of the normal reasons associated with dictators), different set of heroes (V really wants to overthrow the government, Tuttle just wants his AC to work), no strange dream sequences or mystery loves. The only similarity is that they're both intensely British stories that you wouldn't normally expect to sell well in America.
Good movie--I bought the DVD on Medved's recommendation a month or two ago. Also bought Downfall--about Hitler, another one Medved recommended.
And Brazil didn't sell well here at all.
He never gave away the ending of The Day After Tomorrow, and it still sucked!
Put me on the list please!
That one was high schlock. Not without unintentional entertainment value though.
thank you
unfortunately it looks like they may break even with this drivel
