You're nailing it, and using just one of the numerous actions Clinton deserved to be impeached for. The only reason Clinton was not removed from office is because those Democrats who are calling for accountability today refused to even view the evidence amassed against Clinton.
IMO, the Dems will not mention the Iraqi documents unless prompted and the MSM will minimize them at every turn. They fear that these records will reveal the names of people, companies and governments complicit in Saddam's rein of terror. The Dems must and will do everything possible to put a stop to the systematic release of this information. They future as a political party depends on it.
I am reminded of 1992. The Savings and Loan scandal. Certainly, some Republican politicians and supporters were destined to be swept up in the very large net being cast by Federal investigators, but many more Democrats were in jeopardy (Harold Ford, Sr. and Bill Clinton to name a few). Much like today, Democrats and the MSM pulled out all the stops to discredit Bush, Sr and ensure all investigations of Democrats stopped. Of course and unfortunately there were Republicans who were willing assist the Democrats by staying home or pulling the lever for Perot, giving us eight years of graft, corruption and treasonous acts. (whole loafers pissed off about the no new taxes and abortion).
Fourteen years later the Democrat Party and now the MSM stand on the brink of disaster. The Scooter Libby case isn't going according to script. If this one is allowed to play itself out it could result in criminal indictment of media players, while Libby walks. DOJ investigations of security leaks will implicate far more Democrats than Republicans, further reinforcing the general belief that Democrats cannot be trusted to protect and defend neither this country nor the Constitution. And finally those pesky Iraqi documents...
Will the Republicans and like minded independent conservatives have the political will to finish the job this time? I have my doubts. It seems that we have come to this place several times the last thirty years or so. Each time the Republicans have turned their back on what was right for political expediency's sake. It seems that the stakes get higher with every failure. This Republic cannot afford for the Democrats and their media allies to triumph this time. If we lose this fight we may not get another chance.
Good point, Rod. And, the way their #s have been falling, there may not be an Antique Media in 10 years, unless they start changing their ways and reporting - -fast!
Thanks for the heads up
ClinTOON should have been impeached, and was, but not for lying about his sexual escapades. There were plenty of "high crimes and misdemeanors" the TOONS were involved with between 1992 and 2000 that should have him removed from office. The Repubs blew that one big time, and even though he did commit a crime, they didn't have the gonads to remove him from office.
Say Georgie Will. Ever going to quit being the good little media whore mindlessly regurgitating the Establishement Media's dogma and actually take the Democrats to task for ANYTHING? What a good little House Conservative you become George. You just write the same perdictable Bush whines column after column. How about this Georgie. How about if you and the butt clowns at NRO, and the rest of the "Conservative" punitry actually try to remember, say 10% of the time, which side of the political fense you are SUPPOSE to be on.
Great analysis, including the exposure of Republicans failing to hold Democrats accountable for their actions. It truly is maddening to grassroots Republicans when this happens.
Some would suggest even a bit more... if I may be so bold.
What about? Just walked in the door from church.....
I do not know why I did not think of this. It is 11:40 CST now. The President is scheduled to speak at 12:00noon CST. So should be speaking in about 20 mins. What time is it there right now?
I am sorry about the Breakfast. I hit and ran and ate mine while I left you all(y'all) to savor that horrible picture. I think I can safely refer to Richardson now as the "Greasy Rutabaga". Actually his face has more bumps than a relief map of Western US, and the only other Vegetable that looks similar is a Yam/sweet potato, and Russert already has the Potato-head franchise. I can only handle five minutes of Russert and no minutes of Richardson.
Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with Sahara, but agree with your comment of being "plain crazy and dispotic." If I remember correctly, Clark almost got us into a war with Russia over his antics.
Very well stated!!! Congratulations on your 8 years!!
So true, Morgan!!!
Too bad the RINO's allow the attacks on President Bush.
Too bad the RINO's refuse to acknowledge the connection
between Iraq and WMD and al queda.
Too bad the RINO's allow the likes of hanoi kerry to remain in the US Senate while the dim's call for the impeachment of President Bush.
Too bad the RINO's won't allow the "white flag" ad to be run again on TV
Pass this "white flag" ad from Dec 2005 around on the internet, it's from gop.com
http://www.gop.com/Media/120905.wmv
At least gop.com has not been taken over by the RINO's!
I like that. Thanks!
