MIRNA BURCIAGA, OWNER OF EL CHANACO RESTAURANT, located at 19th St. and Maple St. in Costa Mesa, is against Mayor Mansoor's plan to have the Costa Mesa Police Dept. assist U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to arrest criminal illegal aliens.
MIRNA BURCIAGA is also a racial supremacist member/supporter of La Raza/Mecha/Maldef/La Voz
Perhaps you should go back to your La Raza masters and get new programming.
I hardly think the entire economy rides on the backs of illegal laborers; all the walnuts in California's San Jouquin Valley were once harvested by hand, then a manual limb shaker was invented and the workers needed dropped by half, now they use a big machine that shakes the whole tree and the workers have been cut in half again.
I suggest you offer more spin with that reply. Are you of the position that committing an illegal act deserves a reward? It sure appears that you are advocating such a thing and I seek to have you make that point clear.
Do you seek to reward someone that commits a criminal act? Yes or no?
Example: If a person hops the border illegally, that is to say without permission, do you seek to reward them with a path to citizenship, welfare doles including food subsidy and tax payer funded healthcare?
Your answer, according to prior posts, is an astounding YES but I predict you will not come out and say it when posed in this truthful way.
Someday lawyers coming out of lawschool will actually give a care about the law, it sure seems you do not!
I just love the claims about the farming industry. This claim basically says that Americans cannot function without mexicans and other South American nation's illegal immigrants. I take this as a slap in the face to all my countrymen.
There is this thing called a free market economy. To those that claim the prices will skyrocket, I say so be it. Better put,as a great man once said, bring it on. When lettuce is overpriced people will just buy something else. When fruits cost too much the market will see the sales fall and thus their profits.
Folks that "need" all these illegals will seal their own fate by rising costs, if they rise to high. I offer it is high time to set this issue straight and stop the illegal employment that so stains what our market is supposed to be.
Americans can and will do the jobs. When the fair market is actually fair and there is no lopsidedness in the scale. Illegal labor tips the scale and that has got to stop.
Yes your right, the immigrants of yesteryear did help make the country great.
....but what you ignore or avoid adding is that earlier immigrants:
1. Most of them had sponsors who were to be responsible until the immigrant got on their feet.
2. Most of them loved America and worked towards becoming a citizen by adopting the language.
3. Didn't try to suck this country dry by living off entitlements, while they sent money earned back home where their real alliance lies.
Of course they are. The majority of Americans are against all these amnesty/guestworker shams. Our votes (or opinions) don't count anymore because the politicians get more donations from the slave labor lobby than we can provide.
10 billion dollars a year we pay (in California) every year to support illegal aliens. Washington doesn't care.
The Republican party has failed America. The Democrat party continues to fail America.
Still more BS. That and a handful of seeds may grow a great garden, but if that is all the better you can do in an argument, than they need to revoke your law degree.
Minutemen heros BUMP.
Here's an entire thread:
"Legal immigration good until it sinks the boat"

"Enough is enough. At what point will we determine this country is crowded enough? When we're packed in like sardines like in India. I say halt ALL immigration for 5 years and then reassess."

"Make it 10 years and you've got a deal. Conor Friedersdorf may have 'long supported high levels of legal immigration to the United States' but, like you, I think there is a need for a time out.

"Just once I'd like for one of these writers to tell us except for Africa where it's believed humans originated what country isn't a nation of immigrants? Unless we're expected to believe the Chinese, the Mexicans, the Cubans and everyone else magically popped up out of the ground then I'd say all of them are. So why isn't anyone else morally obligated to take in a million a year and another million illegals?"

Or, maybe there:

"Of course, this country can function without both legal and illegal immigrants. We already have too many people. I am just wondering how many of the ultra-violent Russian Mafia are in this country legally.
In the D.C. area and other place the roads are cluttered with traffic, historical battlefields and scenic areas are destroyed for ugly urban sprawl and tacky housing developments. Many schools are overcrowded in Northern Virginia."

". . . even if you got rid of all the illegals (and, one hopes, neo-Aztlan nationalists as well) and put a moritorium on immigration, you could keep the birth rate at replacement levels -- easily -- by banning abortion."

Those are just the first half-dozen I could find quickly. I could keep going. Look, one legitimate policy option is to completely shut down LEGAL immigration - don't be ashamed of it - it's not just the ideologues here at FR, even Tom Tancredo wants an official "time out" on legal immigration. I don't think his plan is ZERO legal immigration though. But, please don't tell me that no one wants to stop ALL legal immigration, perhaps under the guise of "temporary" but come one, 10 years sounds a little more than just a temporary "time out" to me.
I'm not blurring anything - I know exactly what is legal and what is illegal - the sentence of mine you quote is about "uniting" both groups, as the U.S. Senate is currently debating. Are they attempting to "blur the line" too?
That's why I went to law school - so my secretary can take dictation and Spell-Check ; )
I didn't say the "entire" economy - we only have to have a few percentage negative growth for more than 2 quarters to be in a recession though.
Awefully dishonest of you to spin the issue that far out of true.
Here is how you "Unite" the two. The ones acting in an ILLEGAL manner need to STOP and join the folks doing it LEGALLY. There is no blurring of that line on my part, none whatsoever.
Are you going to answer the questions I asked you or simply dismiss them like you do the seperation between legal and illegal?
No. I have no problem with a Senate compromise whereby illegal aliens must return to their home country first before applying for something like the Bracero program. Hopefully, that is truthful enough for you.
Someday lawyers coming out of lawschool will actually give a care about the law, it sure seems you do not!
You will note I never post personal attacks.
Please refer to me as the "mob", then; I insist. I'd rather hang together with them...
As for automation being overhyped, my employer utilizes every kind possible in the car wash business here in Tennessee for consistently excellent results. Meanwhile most carwashes in California are still dependent on twenty rag-wielding munchkins of questionable legality. Guess which business model is both more ethical and profitable?
If at all possible, I would rather avoid a recession, though, from your proposed "market" correction.
You will note I never post personal attacks.
Some of those posts sought 10-year "moratoriums" - how long would no longer be "temporary" in your opinion: 100 years?
