It's sad that the superstition of communism is being replaced by the fairy tales of creationism. By the way, remember that Soviet pseudo-scientist Lysenko rejected Darwinian evolution as well because it contradicted the communist notion that somehow a New Soviet Man could will himself to emerge out of current human nature

Like in Western countries, the curriculum taught in state schools in Russia is strictly secular. A number of young Russians, however, are not opposed to seeing that change.

Wrong! The curriculum taught in Russia is not strictly secular. My wife helped write the Bible curriculum for the schools there several years ago. The Duma drafted the law making it optional, and it was signed into law. They don't worry about the ACLU in Russia.

Educators are supposedly so dedicated to promoting self-esteem in children. Which account of origins provides more of a feeling of worth...hearing you are an accidental product of billions of years that culminated in a monkey-person, or hearing that God created you out of special love for humanity? I know which world view I'd rather have my children be taught. I firmly believe the animal behavior of so many in our society, both young and old, is due to the very fact that they were told they are animals, and so they act like it. Gangs are a perfect result of Darwin's "survival of the fittest."
