A large tornado has moved through Illinois and has just hit the City of Springfield. Spotters reported a large tornado moved through the city. Damage is being reported. Emergency responders are being called in from surrounding areas.
NWS reports that this was a large wedge tornado.
Where is that in relation to Indiana?...and which direction is it moving in?
I'm in Indiana.
I see a warning on the corner of the tube but it's still regular programing.
I'm in Germantown IL - blustery but no storms yet.
Well, if you see one and see cars and trucks and big oak trees spinning around the tornado , it's time to seek cover fast.
It's west of Indiana.....keep track of your local weather, it's heading your way....
I'm ready to move, but don't know where...LOL
they're idiots there
CNN Headline News just reported tornadoes from this afternoon not now. What a useless news organization.
OK..now we are getting flood warnings for central Indiana on the ticker...nothing about a tornado.
TWC is now showing the supercell moving across Illinois. It has cleared Springfield and moving across the State according to TWC.
Me too!
I been hit 5 times by tornadoes in my life, that's 6 times too many!
Oh great. The guy on channel 2 usually gets the weather right for the most part, sigh. I won't be able to sleep til this mess goes by either. I see our dewpoint is dropping, that's good. Our tornado watch is supposed to expire around 10pm so hopefully we will be out of the woods by then.
Reports of severe damage in the City of Springfield...
Reports of a large tornado still on the ground as of 922 p.m.
They won't report anything without pictures of it. They have spectacular damage pics from this afternoon, none from what's going on now.
The weather channel is a joke.
not a good time for people going to bed without knowing about it.
Ever gotten a "wedgie"?
According to TWC this is a super cell and they are telling people to take cover, but then they went to a commercial.
Yeah, it looks like that line of thunderstorms to the west of Springfield looks like it could be nasty, too!
