A large tornado has moved through Illinois and has just hit the City of Springfield. Spotters reported a large tornado moved through the city. Damage is being reported. Emergency responders are being called in from surrounding areas.
NWS reports that this was a large wedge tornado.
Is there a safer place for you to be than in front of a computer giving us reports?
Good Evening Howlin!
We had flurries around my office in Santa Clara at about 11:00am on Friday. Definitely weird.
Sorry for the poor choice of words.
When I was going to Purdue, "Lay Flat" was term we used to either (A) describe Lafayette on a Sunday afternoon, or (B) describe what we felt like doing the next day after a typical Purdue Friday night (after several cans of Falstaff beer, or what we called "Fall-Flat").
Having been through the Monticello tornado in '74, I should have known better.
Hit the refresh button every now & then. It's changing (IMO) rather fast...
looks like the worst should be through there shortly.
the red zone is beginning to enter upper Indiana/Lower Michigan

I thought that you were refering to the fact that it was a play on words about having to lay flat in that area of IN due to the constant tornado situation.
We did enjoy the Perdue fireworks on the 4th of July when we were there.

That was very nice of you, ACAGuy. People that age don't want to feel frail and helpless. They want to preserve their dignity. Yet they might appreciate knowing in as gentle a way as possible that someone is behind them, and will be looking out for them. It's a balancing act.
SECOND tornado hitting Springfield, MO right now.
Tornado moving through Springfield MO at 1250 pm
How much can these people take in one night?
