Tony Snow is back and better than ever!  Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

RIP, DWP Thanks to Chuck Schumer, Duncan Hunter, and a host of other Congressmen, Dubai Ports World says it will turn its U.S. operations over to some phantom American entity. So when the UAE tells us they don’t feel like helping out in the War on Terror, we’ll thank Congress. Tony has more

From the Senate U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend. Before he does, he’ll talk to Tony about a host of issues - - including the killed ports deal and the South Dakota abortion legislation.

Sensible Immigration Reform There’s been a lot of grandstanding on both sides of the immigration debate. Someone who has a common sense solution approach to the issue is Newt Gingrich. He joins Tony.

And there's more!

Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

Someone did comment on primaries. I agree with you too, in supporting conservatives in primary elections. We are doing that here for the most part.

Off topic a bit, but as states loosen candidate primary requirements, candidates are paying less attention to the party. If a candidate does not need local party support to win, they have little incentive to being conservative. This has been a major situation/battle here in Colorado. RINO's can win a primary without grassroot, activist support. That leads to worse problems in the future. Example? NY having both a Conservative and Republican party.

The teachers' union in my state provides the legal counsel for the teachers. I'm sure it is the same there.

IMHO, most of the blowback is going to happen inside the good ol' USA and the targets are the gutless DTCJ congresscreatures and their pimps in the MSM.

I'm not about to vote for any dim for any public office because of DPW or any other issue, but me and a couple of congressional candidates are going to have a real pungent heart-to-heart talk in the very near future.

Wait a second...because people opposed the Port deal out of concern for national security, as I did, we're ignorant and "Osama won again"?

C'mon Chattie, that's not fair...the rhetoric has really ratcheted up over the past couple of days what with Gen Abizaid playing the race card.

Perhaps I should play the race card...

The UAE does not recognize Israel, and actively supports both organizations and governments (Iran) that wish to "wipe the Zionist Entity off the map". These same organizations and countries (Saudi Arabia), have official postions in which they deny that the Holocaust actually occurred.

Yet those that oppose this deal are called racists while the REAL RACISTS are defended. Shame on us for, ONCE AGAIN, turning on, and eating our own.

Rush has a great saying, "words mean things". And he's right. When we call someone a racist who has a history of fighting racism, we diminish ourselves.

You want to know what is worse?

Yesterday in the Senate, one of the reasons given for needing Congressional oversight on this deal...which was legally done under the CFIUS law, in secret, that congress passed in 1988, was that "times have changed, we had 9/11"!!

Okay, now go back a few weeks...and Congress was all up in arms that President Bush had the NSA progam using warrantless wiretapps on foreign calls...and sometimes did not follow FISA rules (supposedly)...

When President Bush said that FISA was written in 1978, and times have changed, we had 9/11...Congress said, "Nope, not good enough"...

So...see, Congress keeps changing the rules for President Bush...but makes up their own rules as they go along, for themselves.

Hey Sofa! The racism card is a pretty lame argument...that's the best they got? You'd think how some are taking it personally that maybe they had something to make off the deal.

I know there are many on this thread who disagree, but we could do a LOT worse than Newt. Why am I impressed? Not just because he's relatively Conservative, although on MOST issues, he is. But I'm a systems programmer and Newt thinks like a systems guy. He understands that you just can't shuffle deck chairs on the Titanic. He does have rather specific solutions you can agree with or disagree with. But he sticks his neck out. For now, This Guy is one of the guys I'M thinking about:

YIKES! Please get some facts. The UAE has unofficial talks with Israel all the time. What they do behind the scenes is a necessary for domestic politics. The UAE is Sunni; they do not want a nuclear-armed Iran. Just Wednesday they proposed a nuclear-free Gulf. Don't mix apples and pears---and wackos.

Agreed. AliVeritas does not hand compliments out lightly. I'm still blushing....

I still donate to the national party, just not as much. I want to keep my voice in front of them but I want to make sure my minor contribution is going to candidates I support. I also make it a point of making sure the candidate knows from whom and why he or she is getting the donation.

I support Any Republican who wins their primary becasue that's what we do as a party. But, there is nothing that says I have to contribute to a candidate I disagree with on many issues.
