Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:
RIP, DWP Thanks to Chuck Schumer, Duncan Hunter, and a host of other Congressmen, Dubai Ports World says it will turn its U.S. operations over to some phantom American entity. So when the UAE tells us they dont feel like helping out in the War on Terror, well thank Congress. Tony has more
From the Senate U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend. Before he does, hell talk to Tony about a host of issues - - including the killed ports deal and the South Dakota abortion legislation.
Sensible Immigration Reform Theres been a lot of grandstanding on both sides of the immigration debate. Someone who has a common sense solution approach to the issue is Newt Gingrich. He joins Tony.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If youd like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.
"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
Thanks. I will try that. It starts, then stops right in the middle of the program. Yesterday, I was able to hear two hours of it, but today only 45 minutes. :-(
You want me to send you some bourbon?
I saw something about this not being just as he presented it also, maybe the same thing jack saw. I am sorry I don't have a better recollection or a link.
THAT was NOT how he started his speech
I'm fine with Haliburton running the ports instead. UAE can prove themselves. If they decide to stop giving us access, etc. that would show what kind of "ally" they really are.
The arguments FOR the deal aren't much better than those AGAINST.
Morning to you also future wife. LOL
Looks like you're not stomping any fires today.
Uh-oh!
Hope I wasn't the reason?!
[I think I have driven Mrs. FOX to drink on more than one occasion!]

DUBAI -- Officials here heard late Thursday that Karl Rove had decided to pull the plug. President Bush's political adviser was said to have conveyed to a top manager of Dubai Ports World in Washington that the White House couldn't hold out any longer against congressional pressure to kill the Arab company's plan to acquire freight terminals at six U.S. ports. The initial response of one Dubai executive was: "Who's Karl Rove?" But in the end, political leaders here recognized that it was time to fold a losing hand.

Arab radicals will be gloating, admonishing the UAE leaders, "We told you so." But officials here recognize that they're in a common fight with us against al-Qaeda. And unlike some Arab nations, the UAE really is fighting -- reforming its education system to block Islamic zealots and taking public stands with the United States despite terrorist threats. They have created one of the best intelligence services in the Arab world, and their special forces will be fighting quietly alongside the United States in Afghanistan tomorrow, and the day after.

I blame the press more than congress. We all know the members are weasels whose only goal is re-election. However, there is no excuse for the bloody press to always, always, always get it wrong. I don't know if they are lazy, stupid or evil. Probably all of the aforementioned. I was under the impression freedom of the press meant printing the truth no matter what. It appears that the mission of the msm is to destroy any and all republicans/conservatives. As long as the 3 big broadcast networks have a monopoly on the evening news we are toast. I'll never understand why Fox doesn't start airing Brit Hume's nightly show on their broadcast stations. There are a lot of us who don't have cable or satellite. I think Fox could really compete. Man, this is frustrating.
He is speaking out and being criticized for doing so! He can't do anything right!
Our military is stronger than it has been anytime since WWII, thanks to President Bush. If John Kerry had been elected there is no telling what language we would be speaking.
The Congress makes many decisions that benefit our country and our quality of life we probably don't realize. I know you have heard of the Tennessee Valley Authority and the California Aqueduct. Those were congressional programs, and there are many such examples where the actions of our congress and governement work hard to improve our quality of life and public safety.
They just get blamed for to much bad PR with all the natrual disasters that have happened over the past year the public has to have someone to blame, and unfortunately the President and our government are working in a very difficult period of our history.
Things will get better and we will pull out of this mess.
Where IS radioproducer. Help. We need her.

LOL, I agree!
Even when you know its BS, it has to get to you after a while. I think that's why Presidents seem to age so much during their term.
