I haven't seen "March of the Penguins." Is it any good? Might rent it if it is.
"Is it any good? "
Well, I haven't seen it either, but it's a pretty amazing story. How the penguins procreate, I think you'd like it. I have it on loan from my boss, who'll give me $10.00 if I don't like it, but I expect I will. My boss is just amazed at the humans who endured to film the darn thing.
Grizzly Man should really have been nominated, I guess for the Hollywood left 'enviros' trump 'euros' and that is sad as Grizzly Man is supposed to be really great. But the penguin movie at least has a happy ending.
Tried to watch it, but it put me to sleep, within the first 15 minutes. It's a sure cure for insomnia.
A few weeks ago I started the 2-week NetFlix free trial. The first three movies I ordered included Lord of War. I was disappointed to open the envelope and see March of the Penguins slide out. Well, what the heck, it was free, so I popped it in. I was pleasantly surprised. It was an excellent film, as well as the hour-plus feature on the making of the film. I had no idea what those birds went through just to make more. I highly recommend it.
My wife and I liked it. It's not a thriller, but interesting if you like that sort of stuff.
Rent it. The penguins have more regard for their young than many people. They risk their own lives to protect their offsprings' right to life.
Apropos of the film, a friend of mine says that he can not believe in God after that film, unless He is unusually cruel and callous.
