Barbara Eden; that's a grand episode and Jack Nicholson in two episodes. One where Aunt B was on the jury and Nicholson the defendant; and the second one where Opie and his friend find that baby; the couple included Jack Nicholson, both of these episodes were in color but a bit better.

Course my favorite Andy Griffith episodes include among others, the ones with Malcom Merriweather.

And I think, another plot from the Andy of Mayberry show was again repeated on the Gomer Pyle USMC show.

Where the con man and his wife were going to sue for breach of contract.

Remember "No Time for Sargeants" with Andy Griffin and Nick Adams?

Andy: Barney, give me your bullet.

Barney: Aaaww Andy!

Oh, yes, I've been waiting for the Aunt Bee: Jury Holdout episode, but didn't remember that Jack Nicholson is in it--how fun!

Every crime forum I read or post in brings up that episode, with Aunt Bee as the "reasonable doubt" person. I know that she's right, in her case - but grrrr!

I loved the episode when Barney bought an old motorcycle and had a speed trap with the motorcycle covered with tree branches. Andy finally had to put General Pershing's name in a hidden place and had Barney find it. They then put the cycle in a museum to get it off the street.

Don Knotts had a very distinguished career in comedy that really bloomed from the late 1960's to the late 1970's.

Besides being Barney Fife in The Andy Griffith Show show for many years, Knotts also did a bunch of memorable comedy movies during the 1960's, too. Who could forget The Incredible Mr. Limpet, The Love God, and The Reluctant Astronaut? Younger people remember Knotts as the apartment manager in the later seasons of Three's Company, in many ways an underrated role.

He will be sorely missed.

I remember Don Knotts from the original late show with Steve Allen, especially the nightly skit, "Man on the Street".. hilarious stuff. Always a funny guy. R.I.P Mr. Knotts, thanks for all the good fun.

Ow. That one hurts. So long, Don. I still remember the karate chops you through when you played the fill-in astronaut.

You had a lot of class and didn't mind being silly to make others laugh. So much better than the vitriol and cynicism we see today.

His girl friend in some of the first ones was Betty Anderson from "Father Knows Best." She is the owner of the drug store and is something of a feminist. I can see why it didn't work out, lol. That season has run twice and I just keep rooting for Helen to come to town!

They got stuck on Malcolm Merriweather a few months ago and had the rerun on 4 times in a row, so I saw a little too much of those, lol.

There was another one where an itinerant handy man came by and stayed to help do things around the house, but Andy always ended up doing them. Aunt Bee almost married the guy! He was the dad of all the girls on Petticoat Junction.

I THINK they were supposedly cousins on the show, TS, not in real life. Which did you mean?

It is both a blessing and a curse to live long enough to see all that one treasures pass into eternity.

RIP Don Knotts. You made us laugh and for that we are forever grateful.

Some say it's the greatetst episode, who knows, the classic one and doesn't center around Barney, is the one with Buddy Ebsen as a hobo who leads Opie astray;

No wait, the most favorite episode might be the one with Mr. McBeeBee; I think that was his name.

Well, as you said, so many of them are good.
