Just heard on Fox News. Don Knotts dead at 81
"I used Karate, made my whole body a weapon".
Also, loved him with Andy Griffith. In one of my favorite episodes he rehabilitates a prisoner by giving him a "Mr. Potatohead" set.
That and his setting up a double-date with two "wild girls" one of which keeps calling him (Barney) "Berny".
RIP Don Knotts
He, Jack, and The Ropers are having a round at the Reagle Beagle.
He was from a time where funnymen didnt have to tell a filthy joke in order to get a laugh. He always did movies that the whole family could watch. All of these so called comics could learn a ton from him.
This makes me so sad. There will never be another Barney or another Don.
RIP, and thanks for all of the memories.
"The deep voiced lip sync routine was hilarious too"
I like the episode where he does sing that baritone or something in the Andy Griffith show; because Barney's voice is squeaky;
That same plot, seems repeated in one of the Gomer Pyle episodes, Jim Nabors singing for Sgt. Carter's. Sigh...
And I think, another plot from the Andy of Mayberry show was again repeated on the Gomer Pyle USMC show.
RIP! :-(
One of my favorite actors.
Also the star of "The Reluctant Astronaut".
What was bad about Pretty Woman? 'Prostitute with a heart-o-gold' stories have been around since forever.
A very sad day. RIP Don Knotts.
My favorite episode: "Barney joins the Choir".
Thelma Lou hears that Barney is going to join the choir)
Thelma Lou: Barney's going to be in the choir? My Barney?
Andy: That's right.
Thelma Lou: But Barney can't sing.
Andy: I know.
Thelma Lou: He's a warm, wonderful person and I love him dearly; but he can't sing.
Andy: That's true.
Thelma Lou: He's kind, considerate, good-hearted - the most gentle person I've ever known; but he can't sing.
Andy: You're right.
Thelma Lou: He's the man I want to marry - the man I want to be the father of my children...
Andy: But he can't sing.
Thelma Lou: Not a lick!
We'll just have to miss him. There is nothing more to do.
thanks for the memories, Don Knotts. They should have made you Sheriff.
I think this will break Andy Griffith's heart. They were great friends. :-(
In our security office here at the lab, there is a big poster on the wall of Barney Fife captioned "Security by Fife".
And we can ALL remember the satisfied look he gave..lol! The best comedy duo of ALL time!
Barney - "something big!" (second show)
