As violence spread across Iraq during Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to the Middle East this week, kings, presidents and prime ministers told her that they were concerned that sectarian violence could spread across the Middle East.
"It came up pretty much everywhere," said a senior State Department official traveling with Ms. Rice.
During this trip, Ms. Rice met with leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and the other Persian Gulf states.
One of the senior officials traveling with Ms. Rice said the Arab leaders, in their conversations with her, were particularly concerned that "outsiders could stir up trouble in Lebanon and perhaps the Palestinian territories."

That says more about the nature of Islam and other mideast countries than it does about the US presence in Iraq.
Let it happen, so that the western world will finaly see the nature of the enemy.
We really need to be drilling for oil in Alaska, of the california and Florida coasts,and turning coal and shale into oil. We really need to get free of these crazy people.
They have been doing this crap off and on for a thousand years. If they cant find anyone else to fight , they want to kill each other. If we had our own energy supply we could just let them fight it out amongst themselves.

Ok, then let's all agree to kill the instigators. My vote is fatboy and his Mahdi Militia on Saturday, Hizbullah on Sunday, Syria on Monday and Iran on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Palis get Thursday to think it over. If they don't come to the table the Israelis can take them apart before sundown Friday (Shabbat you know). That should pretty much do it.
Of course it can. As long as Arabs keep funding the terrorists and work hiddenly to erase Israel from the Middle East map, the possibility is always there.
We can deduce two things here:
1. It's the NYT so has to be true./ huge sarcasm alert.
2. They always get everything WRONG!/huge truth alert.

Well Rice needs to tell them Arabs that she'll get her magic lasso and take care of it right now.
