FR Poll: After a few days of fact finding and debate, do you now support or oppose the Dubai Ports deal?

"That was the basis of my question in # 211 ... "Where do we begin to turn back the tide?""
Execut the leadership of the longshoreman's union. No sane American business is going to bid on running those ports when they have to deal with an asinine tax code that gives an advantage to foreign-owned corporations, an insane regulatory environment, AND being hostage to the whims of a bunch of cargo-stealing union thugs.
Oppose.
Cronyism at best.
Reckless, blatent, and un-American at worst.
Support, although more "It's fine" rather than "I want this".
Of course, if it's judged that there are no such industries and businesses, that in itself would speak volumes about the direction our nation is headed.
Jim, you should be ashamed of yourself, for allowings Chuck "Chucky Cheese" Schumer to dictate how you think about a political subject.
Enough said.
Over the past 17 years, CFIUS has reviewed 1,560 cases, only 25 of which involved expanded 45-day investigations.
A CFIUS review normally takes 30 days. The panel stopped a bid by Hong Kong-based Hutchison Whampoa to buy the then-bankrupt telecommunications company Global Crossing Ltd. In 1999, the regulators also blocked a $450 million satellite sale to a Chinese-led consortium over similar concerns.
China's Lenovo Group Ltd. was approved to buy International Business Machines Corp.'s personal computer business this year despite objections from some China critics and a CFIUS review.

Red Chinese Army Controls America's Largest
West Coast Container Port, Long Beach, California

COSCO [China Ocean Shipping Company] has, since the signing of an EXECUTIVE ORDER by President Benedict Bill Klinton in January of 1998, has taken over and totally controls the former U.S. Naval Port Facilities at Long Beach, California. This port is the largest container port on the West coast of North America and is a major conduit through with our technology is being transferred to China.
What most people DON'T KNOW is the fact that COSCO is 100% owned by the PLA-the People's Liberation Army of Red China [the Red Chinese Army] . COSCO has other facilities up and down both the West and East coasts of the U.S. and the Gulf Coast along with the newest port facility that they have at Freeport,The Bahamas, which is the largest container port in the World.
COSCO is intimately linked with the WAMPOA-HUTCHINSON GROUP of Hong Kong which is 100% owned by Li Kai Sheng,of the very powerful LI family of China [top Illuminati bloodline in China], Kai Sheng is a very close associate of Chinese President Zhao Zemin.
Any company can be a security risk, as can any government. I do not at this time see it in this instance.
Your lack of understanding does not equate to them lying. Being a subcontractor for a small part of a port's operation at other ports is not the same thing as being the port operator.
Facts matter.
Oppose.
Muslims of all stripes--shiite, sunni, baathist, wahabi--are killing our troops and beheading captives. Why should we put muslim in charge of our ports? Can you imagine Roosevelt in `43 saying, "I'm putting Italians/Germans/Japanese in charge of our ports." He would have been impeached for suggesting it.
The only hot-button issues conservatives have are enforcement of our southwestern border and national security. For urging the president to stand firm on those two things we're seen by friend & foe, in either case, as either vigilantes and/or racists.
Finally, the Demoncrats will beat us over the head with this in 8 months.
How good a job do you think the administration did in handling the issue?

MY WORD WHO DO WE HAVE RUNNING THE PR AROUND HERE, MORONS?!?!?!
I chose the latter.

You're welcome.
Gov. Ehrlich appeared quite upset at first and even indicated he may cancel the port lease. Maybe he fell victim to the false reporting like 99% of the people did. In any case, he seems to have taken a more reasoned approach now.
GOP Governors, Lawmakers Oppose Port Deal

In the first poll I voted NO. On this one, a few things have changed and I'm not automatically opposed as I was the first time around. But still not too sure. I'll hold off my vote for the time being till I'm more sure. (get down hairs on back of my neck)
Don't really like it, but don't oppose it. Support additional conditons be imposed on UAE contract along the lines as those proposed by Charles Krauthammer in his latest article.
Yet, if we could rid ourselves of all foreign involvement at our ports, I'd vote for that. However, since the ports are 80% foreign "managed," it seems fruitless at this point. Isn't it too late to put our foot down? Where were we all when our ports got out-sourced? Crossing fingers.
But I want legislation included that provides for specific penalties...
Should any terrorist attack or activity or "equipment" be linked to the arab controlled ports, those legislators and political leaders that supported the arab's control & operation of the ports will be imprisoned for a term of not less than 10 years, depending on the amount of death and destruction realized from those terrorist acts..
Provision for the death penalty is included, if more than 100 deaths are involved..
Any legislator or politician that supports the arab ports takeover should be willing to put their lives and careers on the line if they are so confident...
Why can't people just put OPPOSE OR SUPPORT? Why the long
opinionssssssssssssss?
SUPPORT
DPW is probably the best company in the world to take over this lease/contract as far as our security is concerned. Those who oppose it have swallowed headlines from the MSM without bothering to check facts or think through the issue.
Thanks for the information.
As a whole, when the media clamps it's jaws onto a story and screams and wriths and worries you can bet it's a non-story. And then you add in Chuckie and the other Dims who "really care so much about our country" your skepticism has to increase.
What really bothers me about this story and the Pubbie reaction to it is that they seem to think Bush does EVERYTHING in this country. They're beginning to act like the Dims who act like Bush is some kind of god and can snap his fingers and make everything good but he just won't do it.
Gidday to you sir, Thanks fer askin.
In fairness, I see some wisdom and consistancy from Mr Bush here, time for deallin, an explainin.

Simple abysmal stupidity.
