I heard that call and I think Rush deserved it. Did or did he not say that one of the reasons the Dems were coming out against it was to help the Unions (and then, I believe, he made a joke about the Unions). The guy was pretty harsh, but he was mad. It made for some great talk radio!!! I like it better when people get mad at Rush than say DITTO, DITTO, DITTO! It's funny, I've spoken to Rush three times, and twice it was because I disagreed with him.
This is the reason the Dems are against it. They've been blocking all efforts to increase port security since 9/11. They've opposed racial profiling at airports targeting Arabs. And they had no problem with this company running port operations for us in the middle east for the last 15 years.
The Dems see this as an opportunity to bash President Bush, but they need to step in and try to shore up the union's position with the new employer.
For full disclosure purposes, I'm against the new company coming in.
On c'mon! You must be as thick headed as that union thug if you don't understand Rush's point.
Let me spell it out for you:
1) The dems are traditionally weak on national security and defense
2) The dems have ensured that mooslims are not profiled and are treated with respect here in the States
3) Suddenly the dems are anti-mooslim and hawkish on national security
4) Reason? Their union thug constituents
I'm guessing you were one of the callers who wanted to see Terri Schiavo dead. No doubt you began your calls with the standard, "As a lifelong Republican voter . . . " (I always swich off the radio when I hear that.)
The guy was a basic "seminar caller". Once he went off on "Bush committed 3 felonies", he was in Sheehan-land.
In general, I think labor unions should be a part of the process. In reality, today's unions are more about destroying wholesome U.S. values or polices than supporting labor.
The Unions exclusively support politicians and organizations who push the Marxist / Socialist agenda.
Violence is never too far away if a union feels that it has been crossed. If the people or organizations they support are crossed, those who object to them are exposed to violence.
Tying the unions to people like Hillary or Schumer is the right thing to do. They are fellow travelers.
Sorry Hildy, Rush did not deserve to be treatened or spoken to the way he did. He never advocated union members be displaced or harmed in any way, financially or physically.
Rush was correct. The last thing the Party of Treason is concerned about is National Security. If it believes it can gain political points it will attack everything that is helpful to the Nation.
Mentioning National Security and Democrat in the same sentence is only valid as a comedy routine. That is what this clown provided too.
BTW the Longshoresmen Union was run for decades by Harry Bridges a card carrying commie.
