Tony Snow is back and better than ever! Tony's guests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:
More Information Needed
Many who object to the port deal are concerned that they were not in the decision-making loop. Should more people be included in decisions of this nature? Maryland Governor Bob Ehrlich (R) weighs in.
The Facts Win
After sifting through mountains of paper and doing acres of research, the port story doesn't seem like a big issue. But Tony will address any concerns.
The Zen of Bode
Why does Bode Miller insist he doesn't care about winning medals at the Olympics? What is he even doing at the Olympics? Fox News Contributor Tiki Barber thinks he knows the answer.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time
-- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!
I vote for Cowell, myself. I'd love to see him do the WH Press briefing and critique the reporters' questions.
"That is the worst question I've ever heard! Appalling!"
Erlich is concerned about the lack of notice re the port deal and the secrecy involved.
Then he should work to change the legislation.
Yep. Let's see, who to believe..(tapping foot)..
President Bush, Sec. Rumsfeld, General Pace, General Franks.
Or....
Schmuckie Schumer, Hitlery, freepers doing the newest dance step called the lock-step knee-jerk...
Decisions, decisions.....:^D
As far as Jimmy Cahtuh, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. In President Peanut's case, once every 40 years.
Ditto. What upsets me is that Congress crafted the legislation which governs foreign countries from purchasing American corporations and then most of them forget the language pertaining to secrecy in that legislation. Convenient memories, I'd say.
"On AirAmerika last night, they were saying that John Snow is going to make $30 million off of this deal...
And, that the UAE is a big shareholder in the Carlyle Group, which also has Poppa Bush...and that Neil Bush has even more ties to this deal."
Don't have time to do a lot of research right now. Here's a link to Carlyle Group - in a quick review of their portfolio, it looks like they're primarily invested in telecom, real estate, technology. Couldn't find anything about UAE investing in it or the CG investing in the P&O company. IMHO what difference does it make, except the Dims and MSM will try to make it look like Bush is only doing this so he and his family can make $$$$s How come we never hear about all the $$$s DiFi's hubby makes on various deals?

Here's a Bush-bashing site - - "Here in Reality - Meet the Carlyle Group" - -that supposedly shows all the 'links' to the Carlyle group - I haven't read them, but in looking at the headlines, they're linking the Saudis to Carlyle but don't see anything about UAE.

Business Journalist Dan Briody (interview on NPR)
Author of The Iron Triangle: Inside the Secret World of the Carlyle Group (Wiley). The Carlyle Group is one of the most powerful and well-connected private equity firms in the world. Its investments -- most notably -- in timely defense and aerospace industries has made it highly profitable. The group's roster includes or has included former President George Bush, Sr., (advisor), former Secretary of Defense Frank Carlucci (former chairman), Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal (investor) and former Secretary of State, James Baker III (managing director and senior counselor). Briody writes that the Carlyle Group "operates within the so-called iron triangle of industry, government, and the military" and that it "leaves itself open to any number of conflicts of interest and stunning ironies."

I am NOT saying that you are less than educated. I AM saying that the Congresscritters who ought to know better, ARE less than educated. I believe that as Gen. Franks said, we need the help of the UAE. I also know a little bit of information from my work that informs me that there's no way this deal will compromise that security. I am trying to hold down the name-calling to the best of my ability because the real enemy is a) Al-Qaeda and Islamo-Fascism and b) the DUmmies who would give in to them.
I saw Peter King on FOX last night and his beady little eyes were glowing and he could barely keep still. He could hardly contain his fake passion to investigate this and save us all. Oh what a hero he is to his constituents. I say, bull crap. What an act, what theater! He KNOWS this deal is okay and he KNOWS he will end up approving it but for now he's getting a lot of press and lot reelection points by grandstanding. Gag me!
Well I wish that had been clearer, but ok.
Thanks for that much, anyway..
Those people at Air Amerika pretty much just throw stuff against the wall to see if it sticks anyway.
Well, let's see; terrorism surveillance didn't work, the ports issue won't work, so now I guess we get to beat up on poor Scooter Libby and his relationship to {Rush gasp} Karl Rove.
Don't waste your time on Error America, the network that makes Mary Mapes look like HL Mencken.
Did you ever see this?

Yes, and WE should be. We ought to be making the point that running for the "popular" vote in elections while endangering our national security.......we will NOT accept.
My kingdom for that graphic! :0)
I am learning more and more about the U S Coast Guard. Seems to me they need more funding to increase port security. To get that money wouldn't be that difficult. Decrease the funding for both the education dept and energy dept by at least 20% and transfer the funds to the Coast Guard. The USCG is absolutely crucial in protecting out coast lines.
Just my opinion.
