For now I use Gillette Sensor Excel three blades for sensitive skin, which gives me a great shave. I'm not paying $10 for a friggin blade with a battery.

Razor blades are expensive, IMO.

Frankly, I'd rather shoot like a man...

Sorry, Dick, but I'd rather you have shot some MSM reporters than a Good Republican even if he is a lawyer...

I've always thought the safety razor was cool.

But for those of us who use the sisszy man Mach 3s like me, a hint: shave in the shower. I never use shaving cream and never cut myself. A warm hot shower makes me invincible!

I use single-blade disposables to trim around my beard (cheeks and neck.)
Dry.

Electrics don't get close enough (and yank hairs out of the beard) and twin-blade razors cut too close and these curly wiry whiskers of mine ingrow.

Why anybody would want to spend good money on a plasma-engined twelve blade computerized disposable razor is beyond my understanding.

I've never used a safety razor, but I have used a straight razor, various disposables and even a knife to shave with. My preference would be for a good disposable like the Gillette Mach3. It really is a pretty good razor and the way the blades are set allows stubble to pass through rather than building up between the blades. I got a complementary Schick Quattro but I wasn't particularly impressed with it. The Mach3 did a better job. Five blades is ridiculous. Three blades are probably 2 more than are necessary, but I've never used a good single blade disposable.

Anybody remember the old Saturday Night Live mock commercial about the new three-blade system, "Because you'll believe anything"?

I think all of this stuff is cool, but none of it works for me. So far, the only thing that gives me a proper shave is a Braun or Panasonic electric.

Personally I prefer a cheese grater and a couple of slaps of Hoppes #9 Powder Solvent for after-shave. But then not everybody shaves his pubic hair...

I hope that Gillette and Schick and whoever else wants to bring back American safety razors, and that they make millions of dollars and hire thousands of workers because of the popularity of said product.

They could make them cheaper in China.

I dry-shave with a Schick single blade disposable (the powder blue ones in the yellow bag at Wal-mart, ten for a buck fifty).

I'd love to use a straight razor, but I've never seen one available (before this thread).

The razor is probably the 3rd most over-engineered personal hygiene product, with feminine hygiene products taking 2nd place and the almighty tooth brush taking #1.

well i use my electric razor and finish off with a triple one as a touch up.....saves me a lot fo money because they are ridulously expensive. by this way you get a long time out of a replaceable razor...

I am growing a full beard for the first time in my life. I am now in my fifties. I recently have had more attractive women speak to me than ever before.

I am growing this beard to portray an American Civil War officer for a movie. Beards were extremely common at certain times in American history and many public figures of the Civil War era were very distinguised looking with their full beards.

I don't think much of women who withhold their affection because of facial hair on a man.

A just response to this kind of attempted female manipulation is for the man to withhold his own affection until said woman changes her appearance sufficiently to fulfill HIS definition of the perfect female specimen.
