I meant currently serving.

I really don't care for inside the Beltway politicians as Presidential candidates. Just a personal preference.

I would like at least one guy in Washington that remembers that it rains.

"What in the Hell do you see in Lynn Swann? He's an empty suited celebrity who's done nothing and wouldn't even debate the issues."

Huh?? He's a Hall of Fame receiver, a rare black Republican, and has a great smile. Isn't that enough? /sarc

Love Newt but don't think he has a snowballs chance so I will pick Allen. (with Karl Rove and Rush Limbaugh as his top advisers)

Yikes... Frist picked up 2 out of the first 835 votes.

I voted for Pence. I don't believe he will win the nomination, but if he runs, he will be good for shifting the atmosphere of the GOP primary toward a pro-life, family, and limited government stance. That way, if a Rice or Guiliani wins (I would be happy with either), they will enter the general election with a more conservative platform.

Pence would also make a great running mate for either candidate (or for McCain, if it must come to that...)

I share your concerns about Condi. She has some good qualities that I admire, but I am not aware of enough about her to justify any support at this point.

However, you support Ricky Santorum who may not even be in office next January. Are you aware of how tough it will be for him to win again? Do you know that it is the right wing that is rejecting him because of his pursuit of personal advancement and so called Party loyalty over the principles that he has espoused? Are you aware of the garbage that he has endorsed, proposed, and supported?

He's a pretender, not a genuine conservative.

"The same John McCain that called the Swift Boat Veterans "Dishonest and Dishonorable"?"

Thanks for that important reminder about a McCain covering the traitor's arse...

That's up there with Dubya referring to the Minutemen as "vigilantes."

Barbour said NO to 2008. Rice said no twice. I guess I take them at their word even if others don't.

It's called a Draft.

My ideal first choice would be the most truly conservative and honest man or woman in the Senate, Dr. Tom Coburn.

He doesn't care if the Senate "club" members like him or not, he is dead set against wasting taxpayers money and dead set for running a tight ship of state. He may not be an expert on foreign affairs or fighting the WOT, but he could hire plenty of people who are to advise him and help carry out those duties.

Of course the odds of that happening are less than the odds of me diving off my deck and flying away over the treetops. The majority of American people don't want a real fiscal and social conservative who truly fits the classic definition of same.
