[Ron Paul, and Tom Tancredo]
That's unique, and I wouldn't mind that; though I think it wouldn't be possible. Tom's ideal for immigration, and Ron Paul would be the ideal for the economy. Though I think they would be the extremes of both, and would scare the bulk of the independent vote away.
note:I want TOM to run, and really put the pressure on immigration.
I'm assuming that the ticket would be best ALLEN/PENCE.
Both have good records on immigration, and are generally free-market individuals. Not to the degree of the above, but enough to suite the public. Allens view on guns could have some set-backs, but overall that seems to be most popular combination.

Allen is worthless. If this is the best the GOP can do, then we are in deep do-do.
Might as well have Specter, McCain or someother RINO.
To: reformed_democrat
Haley Barbour. An interesting pick! He might be the one man mentioned, who could actually get most of us back working together. Most of the favorites are more "liberal," and more divisive to the traditional bases.
I could certainly support a Barbour/Tancredo ticket.

Well, if you still believe in the Statue of Liberty and what America stands for then you should seriously look at Mike Pence for president. True heir to Reagan!
I'd vote for Pence. I don't know enough about him to have an opinion.

"Mike Pence, bro."Don't know much about him yet. It's probably a little early, but I will check him out on your recommendation.

Just as I think that the GOP '08 presidential candidate is NOT going to be any of those listed now, I am standing by my position that Hillary is NOT going to be the Dem one.
You and I are right...we'll laugh together later, when it's proved just how right we were. :-)

McCain is all talk and NO action. His "Mostly" Conservative credential are just because he makes noises about spending. When push comes to shove McCain gets all the wrong things done CFR, Terrorist Protection Act etc. Before any serious conservative can consider McCain he is going to have to actually DO something not just talk about it.

I am referring to those who will not vote for anyone who is pro choice. Period. That is their right.

Hey, as an aside, I heard Robert Smith is sick?
What's going on?
My son is heavily into the Cure. Has the band broken up? Are the original guys coming back? Saw the band in the summer of 2004 in Camden, NJ -- in the pit 4 rows back.
Smith crept out slowly from the side wing and really absorbed the mood of the crowd -- savoring the adulation and making as much eye-contact as possible.
Was a good show. Was disappointed he didn't do 'Friday I'm In Love.'

A little Bear Bryant toughness too. Allen has a weakness in not slapping the Junk Journalists down harder when they set up their fraudulent "questions". He is a little too naive in his dealing with them.

The first candidate who commits to:
- Lock down our borders, and seriously attempt to halt illegal immigration.
- Outlaw any illegal immigrant "amnesty' in the future.
- Implement plans that arrest, fine and/or jail - EMPLOYERS of illegal immigrants.
Even folks who hire illegal immigrants as maids, nannies, cooks, gardeners, construction workers, restaurant workers, field workers, etc. etc.... EVERY EMPLOYER.
- Require a National CITIZEN Identity card to access banks, credit, voting booths, schools, hospitals, welfare, etc,...
- Offer illegal immigrants 6 months to leave the country, with the option of applying for legal entry on an accelerated schedule if they can show they have not been involved in criminal behavior or a leach on welfare.
- After 6 months, it is a FEDERAL violation to be in the U.S. without current visa or residency permit -- and will result in IMMEDIATE deportation. No appeals, No delay, No exceptions..
- Amend the Constitution to remove the Amendment that granted citizenship to all children born in the U.S. -- to exclude those born to illegal aliens.
- Implement a REGISTERED guest worker program that would allow free cross border movement of INVITED labor -- to REGISTERED employers. No permit granted for longer than 6 months.. Employers responsible for ALL costs incurred to support the "guest worker".
The "guest worker" will have access to NO taxpayer funded services, other than TRUE and UNAVOIDABLE emergency medical care.
- Any arrest and conviction for a crime - ANY CRIME - will result in the IMMEDIATE deportation of any "guest worker".
- Distribute to the Islamic world an ultimatum....
To call home their lunatics that refuse to adhere to the laws of their host nations -- ie, "When in Rome, do as the Romans" or they will have no home to return to.... after we expel them with severe prejudice...
