Why I Am Running in 2006

Three things have happened in the last two weeks that make this the right time for me to challenge the 8-term Republican incumbent, Charles Taylor. A major article has been published, detailing numerous ethical and legal questions about Taylor. That article is here:

The response of Taylor's office to this article was the worst possible choice. By e-mail, his Press Secretary threatened a law suit against the paper. The Editor promptly shared that threat with all other media in NC. That's discussed here:

Finally, one of Taylor's minions saw fit to attack me personally, in print. No competent incumbent should even mention the name of his opponent, much less attack him.

So, it's been a favorable two weeks. I look forward to the interest and support of my colleagues on FR.
