Post-Threat Chagrin Around The Tower (LA Times Bush-bashing spin on LA terrorist plot announcement)
Los Angeles Times ^ | February 9, 2006 | Tanya Caldwell

Other downtown employees saw the new details as a political move by Bush to "keep us living in fear" and garner support for the war on terrorism.

"It's a travesty.... I mean, we've caught him lying so many times," said Mark Lea, who works at a major law firm in the Wells Fargo building next door. "He's only doing this to draw up support for his domestic spying."

Patrick Grover, who works on the tower's 2nd floor, agreed.

"I'm not alarmed [by the threats]," Grover said. "I'm alarmed that they're exploiting it years later."

Grover called Bush's announcement "malarkey," criticizing the president for supposedly setting up a "smokescreen" now that the administration's spying policies are under attack.

As despicable as the LA Times spin on this is, most of us could have predicted it in advance if we had thought about it.

The end result is always the same. Bush is wrong. So, take any set of facts or an event and find an angle.

I don't know what their angle will be on the White House Easter egg roll this year will be. Probably something like not enough kids with AIDS were invited.

It's always something.

The hell of it is, these idiots are probably alive today because of George Bush.

I agree. This particular anti-Bush spin is intellectually weak and vulnerable, though.

President Bush could easily release information, evidence, etc. about the Library Tower Plot...putting mud all over the LA Times and the people that they claimed to have quoted.

If an attack were to take place there, these bastards would be the first people to piss and moan to the nearest TV camera and news anchor about Bush not doing enough to thwart terrorist attacks.

I have zero respect for people as stupid as this.

Hey Pitty Pat, are you just gloating that you're on the second floor?

Following through on an earlier poster, I want you to take this to heart, Grover...

"Where do they teach you to talk like this [Grover]? In some Panama City "sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here."

It's the new talking point for the dems.

It's actually covered in their "framing" workshops..winning the hearts and minds of America with their superior linguistic capabilities...Not.

Do a google search on "framing" and "democrats". It's featured in various dim workshops around America.

Even my small town newspaper has a vomit load full of their "new speak" in the letters to the editor section.

"We've caught him lying so many times"

OK, that's it! The RATs continue to allege he lied, but cannot prove he did nor when it supposedly happened. The liberal MSM is to blame for this misinformation and now it's a RAT mantra, and is itself a lie.

Thanks for the link. That's better proof - No Mark Lea is a member of the California bar. So the guy likely just works in a law office. Unless he's just visiting for a day or two from out of state, he's not a lawyer.
