What do women really want?
I thought feminists wanted to be treated as equals. No kid gloves, door holding, placement on a pedestal for them!
But when RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman took a rather timid poke at Hillary Clinton, a leading feminist scolded him for being "ungentlemanly"!
Feminist Naomi Wolf, she of the $15,000/month contract with Al Gore to advise him on which Birkenstocks to wear, just completed an interview on Fox News. The topic were these comments made by Mehlman yesterday on ABC's 'This Week.'
"I don't think the American people, if you look historically, elect angry candidates. Whether it's the comments about the plantation or the worst administration in history, Hillary Clinton seems to have a lot of anger."
Commented Wolf: "Really, truly, I think it's quite ungentlemanly and quite sexist and insulting that when a woman with a track record of delivering for voters stands up and says what she believes they try to smear her as angry."
OK, Naomi. Whatever you say. "Hillary, honey, I think it's so cute when a girl gets mad!"
Fox News what-do-feminists-want ping to the Today show ping list.
...waiting for Naomi to name one thing Senator Clinton has done for the people of NY.
The idea is to place Hillary! in a protective bubble where she can fire at people bur never be questioned.
This worked in her Senate bid with "The listening tour" and with Lazio approaching her being treated as an "attack".
I don't think this will work in a presidential campaign, however. I pray that it doesn't
If ever there was a sparkling example of anger, it's Naomi Wolf. Good Lord, she is outraged about everything. I'll bet she even gets angry about the weather.
As a matter of fact, you're absolutely right! During the same interview she got furious about Hurricane Katrina. She claimed that Republicans try to make people believe it takes a "butch" man to handle things, but that Katrina revealed their incompetence, blah, blah, blah, and how, basically, it really takes a woman like Hillary to handle things.
Keep my cake and eat it too syndrome.
Now, Naomi, you're a nice feminist girl. You can take it. You aren't a simpering little female who demands a double standard to get by.
Look sweetheart, get your ass back in the kitchen and make me a bean pie!
Act like a lady and you will be treated like a lady.
Act like Hillary and you will be treated like Hillary!!!
SEXIST! So that's going to be the line. Criticism of Hillary will be labeled as sexist!

In her book `Slander' (?) Ann also nailed Naomi on her facts, in Wolf's `The Beauty Myth'. Wolf claimed that women dying from bulimia and anexoria were like Flintstones Kids or Carl Sagan's stars: "billions and billions--and growing" when documentation Ann provided showed otherwise.
Those stubborn facts . . .
"Our chicks are red-hot; their chicks ain't doodley squat."
Hillary is a woman?
Anyone who's so emotional that they shriek "Ungentlemanly, ungentlemanly" and "Sexist, sexist" at the mildest of criticism is clearly unfit for any office higher than excrement shoveler.
Most of the people I work with are men. I don't want or need any special treatment. Why do these people keep demanding it? Are they that insecure?
The hypocrisy of liberalism on full display!
ooo!
as a side note, I caught a little CSPAN over the weekend. They were playing Hill's little visit to SF. Aside from being a loathesome love-in smarm-fest, it struck me how brazen Hillary was in spewing such mild criticisms as "this administration... dishonest and peculiarly incompetent"
made me wonder, where was her tongue when Bubba was in office?
but, then... that's a question I probably don't want answered.
Anger's the least of Hillie's problems.
It shall be so. Madness in great ones must not unwatched go.
William Shakespeare. Hamlet
they're milking the teat for all it is worth for just as long as the odd double-standard they have managed to promote lasts in effect. none of the whining is sincere: it is all pro-forma dumb-show
