Do they not understand this was a top secret program...? No. That it precisely what they do not understand.

Leahy "Thank God We have the Press"
It should be more like who leaks the most congress and the senate or the press?

They are going to get us all killed.
I've said that before, but now I truly believe it. They are going to get us all killed.
Compromised programs, public hearings, leakers on intel committees...
How are they held to account for thousands of lives being put in harms way?

EBH: Do they not understand this was a top secret program...?
filbert: No. That it precisely what they do not understand.
I respectfully disagree. They know it's secret, but they hate the Bush administration so much that they're willing to sacrifice our security in their pursuit of anything anti-Bush. (So much for representing their constituents.) They're also jealous brats whose egos get bruised if they don't know every secret. I wish one of the interviewees would forego decorum and simply say, "No, we don't tell you everything. We can't, because as soon as we do, it ends up in the media." Senator Roberts, thankfully, said about as much from the other side of the table last week. Spoke of duct taping mouths shut.
