Brillian insight from your 2004 post. Yes, everyone who feels inferior will hate those whom they look up to. Muslims look up to and admire the West since we have technology and science (they don't). Thus, rather than be thankful for the West, they feel inferior, hate us, hate themselves for hating us, are afraid they will never be like us, and are stuck in the demonic cycle of "hating onself for hating a person that you like."

Add the group element and, here it is, a group that hates the West.
