IBM today announced free software and educational resources to help developers in Russia build and deploy innovative applications based on open standards and open source.

Tapping into the booming software development market in Russia, IBM is giving software developers, architects and students free access to software and hundreds of new tools and technical and educational resources that will enable them to more easily build open standards-based applications.

With a few clicks of a mouse, developers can download free versions of IBM middleware, IBM WebSphere Application Server Community Edition and IBM DB2 Universal Database Express-C, as well as access trial code, tutorials, technical forums, emerging technologies and blogs where IBM technical experts share their tips and expertise.

Dear Golden Eagle,

LOL.

Someone who thinks it won't matter that folks will still listen to Bach in a hundred years is actually a phillistine. That's not name-calling.

It's just like saying the Chinese are communists.

However, calling all open source folks "socialists" is name-calling.

But you would never lower yourself to that, would you?

Except you're ignoring that I have *never* said I have anything against closed source. I think the two co-exist just fine, you on the other hand are rabidly anti OSS while you troll on a site running Linux/Apache.

Please remove MikeinIraq from your ping list. It's not protocol to create a ping list without express consent.

Golden Eagle, do not use a ping list unless you yourself have created one and others have asked to be put on your ping list.

I have asked the members of the list if they want it up or down and for most of them the answer was 'up, but I dont want GE flame baiting with it'

Thanks for the suggestion

The moral of that story is if you value security don't use Microsoft products.

If you create a ping list and someone wants off, it's good manners to abide by it. I know, I've asked to be on a list, only later realize, I'm on too many lists and ask to be off. There are many reasons why someone wants on or off. If you're a thoughtful poster, you'll work with people. Having a ping list on your page opens you up to trouble, as experienced here. People in good faith wanted you to ping them, someone abused your generosity. Such is life. Keep your list private. I know it's convenient having it handy on your home page, but a word document will do the trick. Thanks for understanding, you did nothing wrong.

Sorry but you're really having trouble keeping up with the discussion.

I'm in and out tonight as time permits--I'm working on a major project for school. Unfortunately, I have neither the time nor the patience to work with both your nonsensical rattling and my schoolwork.

I suggest you read my posts more carefully, attempt to comprehend the big picture theories put forth, think, then maybe post.

With all due respect, you have neither the credibility nor the authority to even remotely suggest this.

Your posts are the same recycled hash on each thread. Therefore anyone reading your posts over the last umpteenth months can easily deduce this. You criticize OSS on baseless points ranging from dealing with ChiComms to the Illuminati, and how OSS is some evil sinister conspiracy for the communist UN to take over the world.

But when MS does similar practices, you tout them as the epitomy of capitalism.

The point I made was that it's pretty clear you are belching out close to the same FUD-based doublethink propaganda MS's marketing department puts out.

Open source is simply a tool that is being used to standardize the world on a U.N. based overall system.

Yadda, Yadda, Yadda. We've heard this before, and we've disproved it countless times. Come up with something original for a change.

But .. but don't you understand? This thread proves that open source is inherently more dangerous than closed source.

lol

I know, I know ;^)

Lately, there's been some bad blood between GE and some of us, such as yours truly, that's all...

Did they ever figure out why GE roasted us with N3WBI3's ping list?
