In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.
Close Call
Then came the unexpected:

And? What's the other part of "both" up there? What's the other thing they should do? I think the other thing they should do is take remedial English.
Also from my #970, looks like the fetus eater is a vegetarian at that. More links at bottom of page.
The cartoons were too dreary to hold my interest for more than a minute or two. The protesters are violent young men. It is ALWAYS violent young men. They should get married, settle down, take out the garbage a few times and get taught some sense by a female. Otherwise they will never amount to anything more than unskilled labor. Throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails seldom pays a living wage.
LOL..
How very odd. What does he think the fetuses will grow up to be, rutabagas and pole beans?
EVERYTHING that EVER issues forth from a politician's mouth translates to "Give us more money."
I have a new theory about fetus-eater. He regards his clients as chicks. Therefore the fetuses are EGGS. Vegetarians can eat eggs if they aren't outright vegans subsisting on brown rice, fungi, algae and diet Pepsi.
Lol, that's what happens when a politicial sits on both sides of the fence. Can't please everyone. They just want to keep their jobs, but actually standing up and doing their job is proving a little difficult in this case.
We know what kind of a job men do when they are standing up. It isn't the way women do it.
I've noticed that. If they did their jobs properly, there wouldn't be a need to throw more money after an obviously troubled entity.
Of course in these times of social engineering and political correctness, nevermind corruption and greed, that's probably not possible.
Hahaha!

According to an April, 2005 poll, 80% of likely voters said that a disabled person who is not terminally ill or in a coma, and not being kept alive by life support should not, in the absence of a written directive to the contrary, be denied food and water (Source: Zogby International).
An additional Zogby poll showed that 74% of those participating believed that it is proper for the federal government to intervene when basic civil rights are being denied.
FV says: Rinos, this isn't paper or plastic, it's life and death. There's a backlash against Senator Martinez. He's a coward and is drinking rino kool-aid in 2006. The backlash began after his Sunday appearance on baynews9.com Political Connections. They have a Political Connections link on line. Frist and Martinez are both cowards and rinos. They don't represent their constituents.
Let's hit 1000 posts for Haleigh today. Her birthday is February 26th.
And that will help her how? Medical care will help her, not chat room blathering.
You may not understand the value of this place, but it is valuable. These people stood in defense of my father, and that is extremely valuable. They have stood in defense of Scott Thomas, Haley and many others as well as Terri Schiavo. These people have worked to save life, and this is their gathering place. That makes this an extremely useful and powerful place. I suspect you fear it.
No problem... we're going to hit 1000 for Haley today.
You suspect wrong.
Just read a book called The Day I Died by Steve Sjogren. Steve is a pastor of a church. He went in for routine gall-bladder surgery, and the inexperienced surgeon cut his aorta in two places with a laser. He died for 7 minutes. He was revived, but was very ill and put on a respirator. The doctors told his wife that night that they should TURN OFF THE RESPIRATOR AND LET HIM DIE. She refused.
He went through a long, hard recovery, but is practically back to pre-surgery health now! He said in the book that he would never, ever have a "living will". The doctors in his case would have killed him.
He is now planning to move to Florida to start a new church. Uh-oh, maybe he should be warned!!
Bump! We will go over 1,000 today and I'm glad that Steve Sjogren is alive and that his wife didn't listen to the doctors.
bump for Haleigh
